I live in Maryland, but was excited to see that this place delivers to my area. Now, I do love all my furniture and the quality is great, but customer service after purchasing was horrendous.
I bought a brand new townhouse from a builder so everything was in perfect shape. Everything went fine for delivery except for my dresser and chest. The delivery guys, as nice as they were, damaged my hardwood steps. The pieces were heavy, and they complained about the weight throughout the entire process. They had to rest the furniture every few steps to take a break and regrip due to the weight but didn't use pads the entire time.
I called the customer service center 10+ times and finally someone got back to me a month later. Andrew, the manager, had me email him pictures of the damage and then he would talk to the crew. 3 days later I get a call saying the crew noted that they carried everything straight up and never had to rest except for the landings, which is a huge lie. Andrew stated that he knows for a fact that my chest and marble top dresser are not heavy enough to cause damage, even though are the heaviest items in my house. I even had to help hold one guy up while he was carrying the dresser because he almost fell down the stairwell due to the weight. He stated he will not fix he damages. Keep in mind I don't mind small scratches, but this are big indents and drags in my hardwoods.
You would think after spending $7500.00+ with this company I would get treated a little bit better. I eventually got the company to cover for the damages, but the fight should not have been this hard. If you buy heavy furniture from this company, maybe hire some professional...
Read moreJust went in to Raymour & Flanigan store on Broadway on the Upper West Side. My husband and I bought a high end mattress from them several weeks ago and I wanted some new bedding to go with it. I asked if they had bedding and they didn't which was totally fine. What was terrible is the salesman (white hair and a thick Queens/Brooklyn accent) was extremely condescending and told me to just go to Bed, Bath and Beyond after I told him I wanted to buy with them.
To cut to the chase, he was judging my age, gender, and (wrongly) assessing my financial ability to pay for a high quality item in addition to be unhelpful. If I'm asking to spend money at your store, why would you recommend me to go to a cheaper less quality store in a dismissive way (especially since Pottery Barn, Design within Reach, and West Elm are literally steps from your store), if you weren't making assumptions about my financial means?
The experience would have been acceptable if he tried to check to see if they had any samples at all in the store for me to look at (or even pretended to check), or told me about the online Raymour & Flanigan store, or tried to upsell me on some other totally random product.
But laughing at, dismissing, and acting condescending didn't win a life long customer, it lost one. I deeply regret the money we spent with them for our mattress and won't return the next time.
To the management, I would say it's definitely time to do some customer service training with your staff and just get rid of those who are repelling eager...
Read moreI bought four bookcases for over $2000 in October 2021 and was told that they would be delivered in three weeks, which end up being over four months. Then, the bookcases came with wrong-sized shelves and two shelves for each bookcase should have been built in but they were not. Delivery team was supposed to set up the bookcases for me but said they "do not do that". I called and emailed so many times and two technicians were sent to my house but they even did not get the issue correct. I called and emailed again and again and was told that they would only compensate me for $275 dollars leaving me with bookcases missing two shelves each. They also blamed me for securing them together-- I have a young child; my child could have died from it if I did not do that. It has been over half a year and this is what I get. I am beyond furious and had asked them to take the bookcases away and refund me! But I have paid hundreds of dollars for a third party to secure the bookcases and bookcase extensions from another company. And I tipped the delivery team $40 dollars! Never buy from this company!---------Btw, the below response they provided offering further discussion is a joke or a scam. I emailed and no one responded. I called the number but couldn't find this Jeff. Someone in this department spoke to the department that I spoke to yesterday and they are repeating the same thing with a bad attitude. Waste me another one hour on it! This...
