Pretty decent movie theater. The seats recline almost all the way and let your legs get supported too which is very comfortable (and makes it easy to fall asleep too). I like that you just have to hold the buttons down and can adjust your seating angle to exactly how you want. I also like that even though it seems to be motorized, it's not loud at all and you can easily make adjustments during the movie without disturbing the people next to you.
Here are some caveats. The theaters are not very big. Ever since they added these new seats, less people can fit in a theater which is obviously fine, but when you're buying tickets for a newly released movie, it's harder to get seats here than at an AMC theater. Secondly, the screen is not nearly as big as an AMC theater and I don't believe they have any IMAX theaters at all here which is a bummer because they really do have insanely comfortable seating. It would be nice to enjoy a fully immersive experience along with it.
Another problem I had when I came here was that 2 women were sitting in our seats. I came into the theater 5 minutes after the movie started (because of the unreliable NYC transportation system. The MTA , am I right?). Regardless, the seats are ASSIGNED when you buy tickets. Whether or not they intentionally did that was a mystery to me but they took a good 2 minutes to actually get up and move. I believe their actual seats were in the row ahead in the wheelchair section. I recognize that it's not Regal's fault that they were in our seats. HOWEVER, it IS this theater's fault for not having the row numbers illuminated or reflective so you could at least SOMEWHAT see them in the dark. Yes, we came in 5 minutes late, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to see which row we were in because it was dark. And given that there were people sitting in our seats too, we were especially confused and ended up needing to ask people what row and seats they were in and had to do a lot more talking in order to explain to the women that they were in the wrong seats. Again, not Regal's fault that they were in the wrong seats, but it is the theater's fault for not making their row numbers more visible.
Also after reading a couple of other reviews, it seems like people taking seats happens pretty often. Pretty unacceptable with a theater that has the seats assigned. Either people are just not following the rules or they cannot find their seats in the first place.
Although the theaters look relatively pristine (although I wouldn't want to see it under a UV light), the restrooms weren't very clean. I'm not going to be TOO picky about that though because Thor: Love and Thunder had just finished so a lot of people went to use it right after, but it's still something that's worth noting.
As for the concession prices, they're just about as expensive as anywhere is. Not a huge complaint about that I guess. They have also seemed to cut down their food offerings unless it was just always very limited, but I don't remember it being that way.
Oh and one more thing. When we walked in, there was just one employee standing right by the door and checking tickets without any line or signs or anything and he was talking to another customer so I accidentally ended up walking right past him thinking that someone else was checking tickets because they used to check tickets further down closer to the concession stands so not really sure why they were doing it right at the door.
With that being said, if you come to this theater, you'll more than likely have a decent experience, but it won't be great either. If you're willing to shell out more money for a better movie-going experience, look elsewhere. Otherwise,...
Read moreDecent theater bit on the older side.
Seats do recline BUT they are too close together. The guy next to me was fat (sorry truth hurts), I ended up leaning to my left for the whole movie just to have some personal space. Mind you he had a vacant seat on his right, he didn't have to sit right next to me SMH.

Not much had changed still an older theater. The seat motor whine loudly when engaged, not just mine another person's seat, too.
I like that each seat has a tray table.

I'm done with Regal Midway. They don't display all of their prices. Had to ask if the price shown for the nachos was the combo price, it wasn't and the combo price wasn't listed on any sign. Ended up getting pretzel bites that were $8.20 and you have to pay for the cheese cup (1oz), $2.00. At least at AMC, you will get cheese without charge unless you get extras. Bites, cheese and a frozen lemonade cup costs me $17. 20.
WHY?
And then when I get it it's barely warm. When I complain I'm given bites from another food warmer, that are warmer. And there were more bites in this tray than the first.
Again, why? Why are there different amounts of bites on the trays? Why is the hot food just barely over warm? We're not infants, we're not going to burn our mouths, between getting the food and getting to our seats.
When I'm leaving I still had some frozen lemonade left so I asked for some regular ice in the cup to cut the sweetness and it took 3 people to get it. Asked the cashier, who asked the other cashier who asked the manager. Really!!!!!
All I wanted was a few cubes of ice, it didn't need a decree from the President.
Ya'll act like someone going to jack you for 8 cubes of ice. It's ice, not popcorn, not soda, not even a $2.00 cheese cup. It's ice, the machine makes it all day and what is on the bottom melts and drains out into the sewer. 8 pieces of ice will not bankrupt the theater.
Here me, AMC, lifelong customer here. I will never leave you. You know how to treat a customer right. Maybe teach Regal a few tips.
So yes, I'm done with Regal Midway. Keep your points,...
Read moreRegal UA Midway may lack the latest screen technologies such as IMAX, ScreenX and 4DX, but it makes up for it with a well-run theater. Auditoriums are clean, the screens are clear, and the bathrooms are usually neat and well-stocked.
In addition, I've never experienced any screening delays or problems and the moviegoers are frequently quiet and respectful. Ushers check the auditoriums regularly on the off-chance someone snuck in the theater and are ready to clean once the movie has ended. Staff members are generally cordial as well.
A small nitpick would be the lack of a full menu at the concession stand but I usually attend matinees and they're sparsely attended in relation to later shows. I understand they're "gearing up" for the later crowds.
Overall, if you just want to see a 2D movie, you can't go wrong with Midway.
Edit: watched Jurassic World: Dominion on June 26 at 12 noon and my seat was taken by someone else. To make matters worse, the guy brought three young children who couldn't stay still and talked throughout the movie.
Also watched Elvis on July 1 at 4:10 and my seat was already taken by someone else. Fortunately, she didn't bring any families with her but what's the use of reserving seats if no one's following the rules?
Edit: management needs to do a better job of training staff who work the concessions stand. I was charged for a drink when I redeemed credits for a free beverage. My credits were charged as well.
Edit: seats D5-D7 in Auditorium 7 do not recline, and most seats in Auditorium 8 are raggedy and worn-out. However, it's still a comfortable viewing experience most of the time as the moviegoers are generally quiet and respectful and the staff periodically checks the auditoriums...
