Stop & Shop — Attraction in New York

The insurance companies now a days give extra help for OTC and groceries . But their gimmick is you can't use the money just like EBT card which is acceptable at any EBT snap terminal a authorized store used .For your OTC/ Groceries Benifit card you have to find which store accepts your particular insurance card and have a specific terminal so you can use ur benefits card at their terminal . ( My local pharmacy has 4 different terminals for different Benefits card but only for OTC because pharmacy don't sell groceries) so a Benifit card holder can use it only for OTC items . In my case Atana insurance which now own CVS pharmacy like you to use it's Benifit card on CVS ( Most of the item very expensive eg Tylenol 24 tablets $8 same Tylenol at Costco 320 tablet for $15 .) Now come to groceries .In New York I did tried last 3 months to use my quarterly $215 dollars for groceries and find no groceries store to accept Atena insurance benefit card . I need Halal Kosher meat .my groceries are herbs cheaper vegetables and fruit pita bread misalahs etc . Which I don't find on American super markets like Trade fare ( Trade Fair on Astoria Blvd has a sign that they accept OTC card but when you take your one they don't have that specific terminal which accept Atena insurance benefit card . ) So I request one of the store owner where I go for my groceries for long time to get a terminal which accept Atena insurance ( he already has 2 more terminal which accept Benifit OtC cards from different insurance companies .My local pharmacy help me to give him the number so he ordered terminal . terminal came it took him two hours to install it and it was broken so the company said they will send new one .New one came and this time with a scanner ( scanner had a USB port on its wire supposed to attach with terminal but there was no place to insert it so the company said it's a wrong scanner they will send a new one but they can help the store owner to help it manually ( liza was a nice humble lady to fix this problem but once terminal started and I try to buy rice it declined then on liza advice we try coffee we tried fish meat oil nothing worked all transactions declined ( same thing happened to CVS before) . She told us there are certain brands I can only buy but she said once they send a new scanner we should try again . As it's almost 3 months like other customers I was not able to use my $215 and Dec 31 was the last date to use that amount ( use it or lose it no roll over like EBT snap) . I start searching where is a grocery store where I can use my this balance for groceries .90% stores were pharmacies which only sell OTC not groceries . After some research I find Stop and shop in the list .I asked a friend to give me his car drive to that store and ask a employee about this situation .Destiny was the name of that girl very kind and professional she said let me speak with manager because I never saw this kind of benefit card than she said wait a minute she took some items from my cart ( all health food ) and pass through and swipe my benefits card ( I was praying God that please help us working with it . Now a days extra $70 a month for groceries is even very important it's good enough for a single person even inflation is sky rocket) and transaction go through .I told Destiny dear Daughter you are really a good destiny for me just before a day when the money in the card was going to expire it worked here at stop and shop ( can you believe 90% customers when can't find a place to use their benefits card the greedy insurance companies take it back after expiring date stealing millions of dollars from poor customers and load next amount for next 3'months .Any way I had to give the car back to my friend so I grab what ever I could and came back home happy .Now next time I will buy every two weeks all the necessary items I need at this store like eggs fruit oil sugar tortillas. I would give 0 star if there is an option! I was at this store on evening of September 4, around 10:40pm, the girl with long straight black hair near the self checkout are rude as hell, extremely nasty and condescending, the dried dill and dried cilantro had a large yellow sign near shelf says $3.99 each, but register rang up to be $5.99. I requested her to do a price adjustment, but she and the security guy both argued with me saying the $3.99 sale price was intended for “tomorrow, September 5”, I showed them on the large yellow sign near shelf does not mention state date is September 5. Then she made nasty comments such as “if you like to buy lots of sale stuff, why don’t you come earlier? The store closes 11pm”.

The store associates should have a better understanding that the law requires retail store to honor customer the advertised sale price on display if customer sees the sale price. This girl eventually did price adjustment but only after I insisted to see her manager, it is not supposed to be this difficult!!!

The self-check out register keeps lagging as well, and the staff kept giving bad attitude when help was needed through our my entire transaction just because it was close to their closing time and they needed to go home!!! After I paid everything moved groceries back to my car, I checked the clock when I sat in my car, it was 10:58pm, still 2 minutes before the official store closing time!!! Hum-um, Since 1975 My old man who sometimes would take me for the ride always shop at many of the supermarkets it seems like all over places. I guess about 19 years of age I started on my bicycle on a Saturday or Sunday morning buying at supermarkets near and far and compared the food prices. The burn out was costlier then the little bit of food I purchased. I got my second job at a mini supermarket half the size of a large supermarket. My first A&P supermarket job at 11 bagging groceries and bringing in the carts, maybe it was 2 or 3 months before the manager saw the small change and dollars adding up and I stop buying food. still coming to many of there new affiliate stores. Yep have noticed all the changes, slight differences in various restored selected stores. Also noticed many retired Path mark folks gone. With new people in stores now along with the Young and the Restless who seem to do short time on the job and move on to other opportunities. Many challenges and changes took place over the years at these Once named Path mark, Now Stop and Shop Gaint Supermarket Retailer. Stop & Shop will Keep it customers amazed with discounts and saving us value on the dollars we spend in the long run. while doing it maintenance to the level of consideration. Also realizing that different Stop & Shop have selected products that are available I realized all Stop & Shop are slightly different, they carter for their neighborhood.
