An update to my earlier review. I should take care to mention that before going into this store the last time (when I did not have a great experience), I had been there several times before and made purchases. In fact, the time before this latest incident, I was assisted by a worker in the store's rental department. The woman who assisted me was extremely courteous and a wealth of knowledge regarding some of the equipment I was interested in renting. She was tall, African-American, and had natural hair. I didn't catch her name, but I have to say, she was the primary reason I came back. It was due to her time and encouragement that I felt that I could take on the job I wanted to hire someone else to do. She's the reason I came back to make the purchases, after watching a few DIY videos. It's ashamed that the next experience was what it was, but I wanted to be fair and not give a one-sided commentary about the store.

I seldom write reviews and am loathe to write bad ones, even with unpleasant experiences. But tonight I stopped by this location on Exterior Ave to buy some paint, and had a question about the proper type of primer. I had the swatch in hand for the color I was excited to buy. There was a line with several patrons in front of me. I knew the person behind the counter was alone and quickly settled on the notion that I'd just have to wait a bit. When my turn came, a person who was not online walked up and started speaking to the lone representative I'd been waiting for. The next thing I know, the rep motioned for the man to follow him and off they went. Without so much as a word to me. It wasn't even like they were gone for just a few seconds. I was just waiting there, frustrated. But I rationalized, perhaps he didn't see me. Even though I was standing RIGHT there. Upon coming back, the representative walks over to the mixer at the paint station, approximately 10 feet from where I'm standing. Ok. Fine. I know he's alone and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt that it's late, he has to multi-task, and I'm sure he's worked a long shift. Again, I hate even writing this. And nothing is more obnoxious to me than petty entitled people who are rude to hard working people doing an honest day's work. But then a woman walks up to him near the mixer and starts a conversation with him clearly seeking his advice on something. They chat for a bit, and the next thing I know, they're walking away as he is showing her something in another isle. This is where I'd had enough. I would have been fine, if there was some sort of acknowledgement that he'd be right back, or that he even asked/told me he's going to show this woman where such-n-such is. What came across was a feeling that it's ok to take people who didn't bother to wait. That somehow I'd merely accept other people who didn't wait online would be placed in front of me, even though those people could clearly see there was a line. It's the indication that I'd be ok with this type of unspoken subordination which I find disturbing. As I explained to the manager upon leaving and refusing to allow another employee to ring me up -this happening once is one thing. Perhaps it was just a mistake. Twice is a choice. And so now I choose to spend my...

I rarely review anything, but this place deserves a review. I placed an order for express delivery, for context I rescued a small pet from a horrific situation and needed to make a makeshift cage while the pet was healing. I express delivery ordered a large sterilite bin, some wire mesh and cutters for the wire. I ordered this on 5/27 (memorial day I know but I was panicked). I paid an extra $11 for it to be delivered on Tuesday 5/28 from 2-6pm, I took the day off of work in order to be home for this. WELL, after being on hold with the store for over an hour, and simultaneously chatting with a representative on their site I finally got an email that they rescheduled my delivery to Wednesday 5/29. I wasn't going to be able to take another day, so I had to wait an additional 30 minutes on hold to reschedule the deliver through the store. Once I did, the woman who I spoke to was very rude, unapologetic and generally didn't care. I ended up rescheduling the delivery anyways as I needed these items ASAP and could not go out to a store to purchase + lug home on public transit. Anyway to try and make a long story shorter, my delivery was 2+ hours late AND they delivered the sterilite bin without the lid! NO LID ON THE STORAGE BIN I PURCHASED THAT MAKES THE BIN USELESS! I then called customer service AGAIN, and explained the situation. He stated they were out of the lids, and there weren't going to be anymore in the store until Monday. In this case I would need to go to the store on Monday and pick up the lid myself (WHICH DEFEATS THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF PAYING AN EXTRA $11 TO HAVE SOMETHING DELIVERED). I explained this is not an option for me, so he stated he could partially refund me for the bin, and then HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and was placed on hold for ANOTHER HOUR, and finally gave up in this long saga... I'm not picky, I don't complain often, I used to work in retail I get it. But this is absolutely INSANE, please do not support this store nor this location! Go to your local hardware store instead, this...

Terrible terrible appliance store. I ordered an air conditioner through Home Depot on Saturday 4/15 and paid for express shipping to have it delivered for Monday 4/17. I call Monday and the representative tells me that I never scheduled a delivery date and my item hadn’t shipped yet. When I was purchasing it, I NEVER saw an option to set up a specific delivery date the way Best Buy has. Then when I decided to cancel my order (I was frustrated at this point) the representative was telling me that I had a difference of about $70 pending from my order and it wasn’t letting them cancel it because of this. The total for the AC was $254, $8.99 for express shipping, $49 for the protection plan I ordered, and about $23 for tax/fees. Nowhere did I ever see an amount for $70 at all. Then I call again to speak to a different representative, and even HE stated that he didn’t see anywhere the $70 the woman was talking about, but that the $49 for the protection plan I will have refunded to me in the form of a check. I did not understand this at all, because shouldn’t a customer be given their full refund in the same form they paid?

Then I call again on Friday 4/21 after having received part of my refund… and this representative then tells me that I will have the protection plan $$ refunded via the card that I used. Home Depot is an absolutely garbage of a store, how are they even still operating? Their communication is atrocious. All I ordered was an air conditioner, I can only imagine how irresponsible and unprofessional they would be about something much larger or delicate than an AC. I will never purchase anything from this store ever again. The item was coming from the Bronx Terminal store and I live in upper Manhattan, so even the distance was very convenient...

Great job at the customers service desk. They were very helpful and knowledgeable when I returned my order I placed a few days ago. I have nothing negative to say about them. There were on two friendly people who were willing to assist me find what I needed for my home. As far as the staff that work in the aisle where the toilets are located aren’t very polite to the customers when requesting for assistance. The security offices aren’t very friendly either, only to certain people who they are affiliated with. You ask a question to the staff, you are talking to the wall. They either ignore the customers or pretend there is a language barrier. There is favoritism. Overall, I’m an avid customer, I love shopping online and in person at Home Depot. The owner deserves 5 stars. They aren’t the problems it’s some of the people they have work at their store. You are supposed to help everyone. Not a selective of few. The products and prices are good quality merchandise. The staff members have to work on the interpersonal skills with the customers. I hope things work well for them.

Bought a jig saw 2 months ago and right out of the box the knob that holds the blade keeps opening so the blade pops out. Checked on the the floor model and asked an employee and he said sometimes it happens and I can just walk in with the broken one and they can replace it, he said it’s happen to him before. As long as it’s not damaged (any person that really uses tools takes care of their stuff) I walk in to the return line and the attitude I got was disgusting. I was treated as if I stole the jig saw. Not to mention the employee who kept on insisting I have the original box to return it. I explained I didn’t want to return but exchange it and she said we still need the original box. Who here that uses tools keeps a box longer than a week. As I walked away they snickered it was probably stolen. This is what I got from this place. If you know what you are going to buy just go in and get it with out talking to anyone in this place.

This is the bronx NY terminal home depot staffed with some of the bronx rude folks, not all. 2 of 3 employee interaction i had the day I went looking for paint rolls. 2 employees in the paint department told me that couldn't help because that wasn't there department, shrugged, looked at me like my question was a me problem and just straight didn't help me. But the one young lady helped me find the paint rollo and them walked me to the customer service area and checked me out. So be wary when visiting this location 2 of 3 employees are NOT going to help.
