Far and away the best bowling center in NYC. The prices are amazing. The place is big, at least 50 lanes. The lanes are in reasonably good condition and well maintained. Well lit and clearly marked. The lane I was on was freshly oiled and was soaking wet, but also clean and free of grime. The house balls are a little dirty/chunky and shoes are in pretty rough shape, but they both work well enough. The pinsetters and scoring are fast and are reasonably reliable, ball return is pretty quick but sometimes it completely fails. Staff is nice and accommodating. There appears to be a full kitchen and bar, though I don't usually eat or drink so I can't share anything about those services.
The daytime rates are exceptionally affordable, and includes shoes for free. I went for a daytime practice session and spent $30 for 3 hours.
There is primary parking in the rear, a smaller lot in front, as well as an easy 15 minute walk to flushing main st 7 and lirr train stations. Definitely an easy trip from Penn station, Hudson yards, times square, Woodside, etc.
There are some expert bowlers that you can learn from just by watching, people are very friendly and it's a friendly relaxed environment. There are coaches available for lessons. The lanes are properly lit, and the music is at a moderate/low volume. This is definitely the best environment to try to learn bowling that I have been to within reach of manhattan.
The biggest deal to me is the fact that there is a nice little pro shop that offers some shoes, balls, and products as well as reasonably priced expert services like drilling and adjustments. For some reason it doesn't show up on Google, but I assure you, the pro...
Read moreI am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at this establishment. On the evening of May 1st 2025, I arrived at approximately 10:23 PM and paid for two hours of service. As your advertised closing time is 1:00 AM on google if it changed then change it there it false time advertised, my friend and I were under the impression that we had ample time to enjoy the facilities, especially considering we were the only patrons present at the last hour.
However, shortly after our arrival, it appeared that your staff began to close down the establishment prematurely. The music was lowered, and we were made to feel unwelcome for being there. When I inquired about this, mentioning that I had paid for two hours and that the closing time was stated as 1:00 AM, a staff member indicated that it was already 12:00 AM and that the establishment was closed, contradicting the advertised hours on google.
I would appreciate it if you could clarify the discrepancy in your closing time and address the manner in which my friend and I were treated, as it significantly detracted from our experience never had this feel till today all together I would not be visiting here and look for a...
Read moreWe recently visited Whitestone Lanes and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. We accidentally purchased tickets for 4 people instead of 6, which we quickly realized but were told we couldn’t change. The staff stopped our game twice to make comments about our shoes, even though others around us were not required to wear them. This inconsistency made us feel singled out and uncomfortable. We also felt the staff could have handled the situation more professionally, as the interruptions were frustrating. I hope they review their policies to ensure fair and respectful treatment of all customers.
Had a very negative experience with one of the staff members. We felt the entire process was unfair, and the staff member was unprofessional, particularly when interacting with people who had families. I was extremely disappointed with the service and would not recommend this place to others. I’ve added a photo to show the...
