I have wanted to take lessons for several years. My wife decided to get a wheel and lessons as a Christmas present. I think this is one of those things you either love or you don't... I'm squarely in the first camp. I took the beginner class and then went on to take the follow-up class. Karen was our teacher and she was amazing and very patient as we may have been more like herding cats as we began our adventure in clay. She teaches the fundamentals in a way that is easy to understand and remember from one lesson to the next. From the wheel to glazes and firing... Read moreI’ve taken both wheel and hand building classes from Markgraf Clayworks. The evening spin is a great intro to the wheel with lots of hands on help. Personally, I favor the hand building classes and have attended now for several years. I moved to Newark during the pandemic and knew no one; the studio was a way for me to start meeting people, and now I call folks there friends. Highly recommend.
