Women owned and LGBTQIA+ Friendly!! The staff were all AMAZING. I could have stayed here talking about food for hour's, but figured that we should let these hard working folks do their jobs.
Edit: these beautiful people remembered my name after a single visit, and greeted me by name when we walked up. The vibes here pass.
I'd give Hey Babes 10/10 stars in each category if it were possible. Firstly, WOW. The food was phenomenal. I got The Librarian, which is a coffee drink, you can look up the ingredients on their menu, all I know is that it was a tad too sweet for me, but delicious. I got a biscuits and sausage gravy, and that was as near to perfect as they can get. They cooked the flour taste off completely and the seasoning was nearly perfect. I personally found the biscuis to be a bit on the dry side, but the flavor was great and it was worth it. The breakfast pie though, was a work of art. My partner said of this "Paul Hollywood would have shook the bakers hand" and I agree 100%. Perfectly flaky pastry. I'm assuming some sort of egg wash? I'd have to ask the ARTIST that made these delicious pastries. Sprinkled with a Maldon salt. 🤯. The filling was delectable! We split another dish but I can't remember what it was called. It had a perfectly cooked egg, gravy, and potatoes over milk toast and it was phenomenal as well. I'll skip the biscuits and gravy next time and get this instead. Overall I 100% will recommend Hey Babes to everyone. If you haven't had this yet, make it your next stop for brunch, I'm telling you, you will not be...
Read moreWe were in a pool in a resort in Gatlinburg, TN in the summer of 2024 and struck up a conversation with a couple. As it turned out, they were also from Newark, OH. We talked about favorite spots to eat, and they asked if we had tried Hey Babes in Newark. At that point we hadn't even heard of them. So, Hey Babes was now on our radar, but we never made it over to their original location.
Fast forward to the beginning of the year; we have moved to Tennessee but were back in Newark for family and business. I stopped for service at Mound City Tire and Auto and planned to go wait at River Road, which we have missed, but the gentleman who took my car said I should try a new place that opened next door to them. As much as I was looking forward to River Road, I decided to walk over and try the new place.
As I walked into the building of the "new place" next door, I had a moment of serendipity as I realized this is Hey Babes in a new location. This is the place we bemoaned moving without trying. I'll just say that the hype was worth it. The atmosphere is perfect! The food was amazing! The people were amazing! I am now obsessed with milk bread! And as much as I love Tennessee, Hey Babes is a solid new reason to...
Read moreSo impressed with Hey Babes. They’ve just moved into their permanent location on 2nd St in Newark as of November 12th. The location is beautiful already, as it has the old school charm of downtown Newark, made only better by their smiling faces and fabulous decor. You are always met with a smile and a warm greeting. Now onto the food- WOW. The specials menu showcases their ability to creatively mix classic ingredients with ones you wouldn’t think to use- but it works so well. You literally can’t go wrong with any of the breakfast, lunch, and dessert options. My favorite so far is the breakfast pie! The drinks are creative and tasty as well and they offer many syrup options so you can create your own recipe! These are three hardworking boss babes that have turned their dreams into reality, and I can’t wait to be a witness to their...
