Partner and I tried this place last night, 04MAY24, on a whim. I had the Reuben sandwich with a side of hand cut fries and my partner had an order of wings and hush puppies.

Reuben was perfectly executed. Bread was toasted perfectly for me, not to soft yet not like eating a bathroom tile. Sauerkraut and Corned beef were very flavorful and delicious.

The fries were 'fair' style and were outstanding. Provided side of vinegar packets went very well with the seasonings on the fries. Portion was a great value. Partner ate most of them and she really enjoyed them.

Restaurant was clean and orderly. Bathrooms were also clean.

Partner and I are committed to exploring all Newark Ohio has to offer food wise, but Baba's will always be the backup. "An hour wait? Na lets go to Baba's."

This place is absolutely awesome! I've been here at least a dozen times in the last few months, and every time my food has been ready quickly (usually 15-20 minutes for phone-in orders during lunch/dinner unless they're really busy) and quality has been spot-on. Like everyone else, I highly recommend the Philly. Chicken or Steak. Both are awesome. Get the fries as well. They're seasoned and I'm pretty sure they're hand-cut as well. Oh, and the owners are great folks. They seem like genuinely good people, and they spend the time to get to know their customers and make sure they're happy. For those wondering, there is an outdoor dining area (a few picnic-style tables with umbrellas over them) and a drive-thru. They don't have any indoor dining, as it's a very...

Stopped in on Saturday evening at around 6 PM. There was one additional table in the restaurant when we showed up and the occasional person stopping in to grab take-out. This was the first time we had been there and definitely love the atmosphere and appreciate how friendly the person taking our order was. The food itself was definitely good albeit a little on the pricier side for what it was (still very reasonable though). The only real complaint that I have is regarding the wait time. Coming from a background of a small family owned restaurant I understand not having the bandwidth to be able to turn food around on a dime, but there is definitely room for improvement in that regard. As a whole, I'd recommend giving this...

This was my third visit while staying overnight in Newark. Got my usual, the hungry sandwich packed with pastrami and corned beef, and fries. The seasoned fries were just the way I like them, thin and crispy. The sandwich was a disappointment. The meat was too salty. Ate only half the sandwich. The first two times the sandwich was great. The cook was preparing a large order, so I was told there’d be a 15-20 wait though I was the only person there, so presumably it was takeout. Had a similar wait the last two times I was there. Usually the meats are worth the wait. This time, no. The location is great , downtown across from the courthouse. I stay at the nearby Doubletree, and the area is very walkable and charming.

Great food and great atmosphere!! So just finished up a pottery class and was hungry. We didn't want a chain we wanted something different. This place was amazing and It's a sandwich shop for sure with a caveat got to be one of the best sandwich shops. I'm not sure what the fries are seasoned with but it's phenomenal. The onion rings were crispy and the dipping sauce... Which I normally avoid was just right. The atmosphere is pleasant and helpful. It may be on the pricier side but as we found out the portions are generous. We ended up having two lunches so it's a good deal. For a suggestion if you like a Reuben... This is one of to two I have had since living in Ohio.
