Newport Historical Society — Attraction in Newport

We booked a site tour of the Colony House through the Newport Historical Society. It is part of a series of walking tours offered on a daily basis, all bookable online. Our guide Emily was knowledgeable and passionate about history and we benefited greatly from this during our tour of the Colony House. We started from the Historical Society museum and she gave us a quick overview of the history of Newport before we walked over to the Colony House. The site tour covered three floors and Emily shared the complete history of the building and its uses over the the past three centuries and gave us information about the portraits hanging on the walls.
