My childhood growing up in Jamestown and exploring Newport and playing video games at Ryan's during the summer. I'm now 40 and this arcade was my go to place for fun. It still brings memories of fun and crazy how it still here. I ended up here on a cold Saturday st paddy's day I was early to the parade and decided to walk down to explore. I ended up seeing that dome and was like heck yeah let's play some games. I was 30min early and they didn't open till 10, I walked across the street to the warm sunshine. I had 4 more minutes before they opened they had seen me and let me come in. The games have changed, redemptions, I miss it and will be back. Thank you guys for letting me in a few minutes early. Everything is a claw grab and all about the points, not a ton of games these days but I will give it to the Ryan family amusements arcade as they are a staple in Newport harbor. I have been going there since I was a kid and love to bring my kids every time I'm visiting. Newport. Yes, you'll spend your 20 or 40 or more dollars and walk out with some toys for your kids that are worth half that, lol. It's the experience and as arcades go this one is cool. The people that work there are nice and have usually gone a little above and beyond to make sure every child leaving is happy. Got to check out Ryan's if your family is visiting...
Read moreA fun-for-all ages old-fashioned arcade right in the heart of downtown Newport! My 16 year old son and 5 year old daughter BOTH loved playing the video games, arcade games, and competing for "tickets" to win candy and prizes. I loved the old school games of air hockey, Space Invaders, and Pong, as well as basketball, basketball Connect 4, skee-ball, etc. Hand sanitizer stations throughout and the games are wiped every hour. We will be back every month....it was a blast! Ice cream parlor/choclatier right next door. Do yourself a favor and take your kids to Ryan...your Dad of the Month award is...
