I had a poor experience with the manager named Doug at the Newtown, PA store. They made a honest mistake by charging me for an item I did not purchase. As a result, I had to drive all the way back to the store which was the last thing I had to time to do today, The person I saw first was a woman named Amy. She knew I was upset and she calmed me down. She did a great job! She handed me off Doug who couldn't appreciate that the issue was not the minor error but that it costed me in personal time to drive all the way back to the store. I openly asked him for an extra discount for my time wastred. He said he couldn't do that. I replied.....not even 10% to make it up to a customer? He got exasperated and while walking away sarcastically said, "I'll give you 1%". For his unprofessiional sarcasm I replied back, "then you lost a customer". Now he did credit me for the minor $ mistake and he threw in a couple dollars (10%)......but when he handed me the money, he never said anything remotely like, "sorry for the mistake...... or for your time wasted". He just said "here's the credit for the mistake and two extra dollars.....he then walked to the back room. I live in Newtown and I don't need to be dealing with people like Doug when there's a Home Depot and Lowes an extra 10 minutes away......not to mention a smaller hardware store down the street in Newtown. Due to Doug's poor level of customer interaction, I will not return to this store and I plan share my experience on other social media with friends and family about...
Read moreI had carefully picked out an off white paint color for our bathroom reno only to find out I didn’t like it once it was up on the walls yesterday. Our contractor offered to repaint, but he said he could only do it once and he would have to do it first thing this morning, leaving me with very little time to pick out a new color. I was really struggling to find the right shade of white. I came to the store first thing this AM still undecided after looking at a bunch of samples last night. I showed Alex a photo of our bathroom and asked him which white he would choose, and he immediately pulled one that I hadn’t even considered. I liked it but I wasn’t sure, so I got his pick plus 3 others I picked. Well, Alex’s choice was spot on. Absolutely perfect. My contractor and husband also love it. It pulled everything in the bathroom together, which was tricky because I needed a white to pull both warm and cool tones together. Alex also did a color match for me for a ceiling the other day and he nailed it. My contractor was impressed with his color match, as well. I will definitely be coming back to consult with Alex as we continue renovating our house and am grateful for the personalized service I receive at this store! You cannot get this kind of assistance at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Ace in Newtown...

I told her my magnet open and close sliding magnet that you close so it won't spill and I lost it and I guess I have to buy the lid 20.00 she goes to the back of the display and says 20oz cup I said yes. She presses in my hand the black sliding piece and told me no charge. I was taken back by this and said why is it free? She says because as we get cups in sometimes there's an extra magnet that fell from the section in plant but all is I know it's yours no charge. So I went with my other stuff to check out and the reg person seen my field jacket from the army,and says are you a vet ? I said yes retired army he says I will give you a discount at the end,so I saved 15 dollars not counting the magnet.
