I have been a loyal patron of this restaurant for several years now, and one aspect that remains consistently disappointing is their table management. Allow me to elaborate: there is utter chaos at the front, with a disorganized cluster of staff taking down guests' names. It's bewildering to witness them giving different waiting times to people with the same party size, even when they arrive simultaneously. It would greatly benefit the establishment if they could establish a more orderly system, such as directing guests to form a line or directing those who have already been registered to step aside. Furthermore, the hostess displays an unfortunate attitude problem when confronted about seating individuals who arrived after others that were already waiting.
On one occasion, I decided to voice my concerns and approached the manager. She assured me that she would find a table for my wife and me. However, after we were seated outside, we were completely neglected by the waitstaff. There was only one person attending to the outdoor area, and although that person was serving other customers, my wife and I received no attention. We patiently waited as two more parties were seated outside, yet we continued to be ignored. When I approached a passing waiter to inquire about our server, she barely acknowledged my presence and replied, "I don't work in that area, but I'll find out." It's worth noting that there were only three tables in total, including ours!
Frustrated by the lack of service, we made the decision to leave. Turning Point, I understand that you have the right to refuse service to anyone, and I would have respected that if you had chosen to be forthright about it. However, what you should not have done is seat us only to appease us momentarily, because I had simply asked why you were allowing people without reservations to be seated ahead of others who were already waiting. I merely sought an explanation.
As a single dissatisfied customer among many, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I sincerely hope that you reconsider your approach in order to avoid subjecting others to similar experiences. My family and I have decided that we will never return to...

However, this time was NOT the case.
They had very young girls checking everyone in. We had a larger party (10), and understood that they did not take reservations and when we checked in told them, we did not mind splitting the group up either into two parties of 5, if needed. Was told it would be a 45-minute wait if we did that and said no problem.
An hour and 15-minutes later we went to check in and they said they assigned us to two specific tables in the back and we’re just waiting for them to leave but they have been sitting there for about an hour “just talking”. I asked why we were only assigned to that section as we said we would sit separately and there were MANY options available inside and outside. There were still people some waiting, all of whom arrived after us. After another 15-minutes of waiting, I decided to go back inside and check and again, nothing changed and they said we could just continue to wait. We eventually decided to leave because waiting on a specific section when there were alternative options available made no sense and no empathy to the situation AT ALL.
We had a disabled elderly person, a baby and two Veterans with us on MDW and I will honestly never go back here again. I rather drive to the city and get Green Eggs Cafe or any other local Cafe/Diner then ever give a dollar to this...

Pros: • The food was good. • We had about a 20 minute wait for a table, but the hostess advised us of this up front, and it was within the estimate she gave us. • From the time we ordered, it was a bit less than 20 minutes until the food arrived, everything done correctly. • The server was pleasant and appeared competent.
Cons: • The seating hostess seated us outside, in a table in full sun. I was more or less OK with this (although my arm feels a bit sunburned now...), but the hostess DID NOT ASK if we wanted to sit inside or outside, did not ask if a table in the sun was OK. Left it up to me to object, after walking us outside. • From the time we sat down at the table, it was 16-17 minutes until our server appeared (with water) to greet us and take our order. He was apologetic - apparently he had been asked to pick up additional tables due to somebody else not showing. He did a good job from that point on. At the end of the meal, he commented that there were a lot of new people (not surprising, given it's September, but... training?).
These negatives, IMHO, reflect a management failing. Whoever was responsible for supervising the front of the house...was not on top of it.
We will probably go back; there are some interesting options on the menu. Give 'em one more chance to get...
