I am a frequent shopper at gabes and have ran into similar situations with the same employee 2-3 separate occasions. Today I was in the checkout and the cashier "Jessica" aka "Jes" is what another employee referred to her as. Probably 40-50 year old lady and extremely rude. She called me to her register at the checkout this morning which was register 1 I was talking to her about this carpet I was purchasing she didn't say excuse me didn't let me know she was going to cut me off and start talking to another employee and just blantently cut me off not once but 3 times. I let it go the first couple of times then I couldn't take the ignorance anymore so I said something about her literally interrupting me 3 times. When I addressed the situation she failed to apologize and said "she was walking out of the door, referring to another coworker. I proceeded to ask her her name incase I was going to make a complaint which I was extremely irritated about the situation was was still questioning if I was going to put her job in jeopardy or not because even thought I was not only rudly interrupted not 1 or twice, but three times I still felt bad about complaining until I asked her her name and she said "Jessica what is yours?" They proceeded to say "nice to meet you". Literally out of pure ignorance to be what most people would call being a smart ass. She didn't apologize at all what so ever, didn't let me know she was going to cut me off with no hesitation, rudly interrupt me then act as if she did absolutely nothing wrong. Out of my 26 years of life on this earth I have never been so disrespected by a cashier or an employee at any store the way she disrespected me (a paying customer) for trying to have a nice casual conversation about a carpet I was buying. It was honestly pure disrespect and it didn't stop until I grabbed my change bags and walked out of the door. What I got out of the situation is that Jessica does not like her job and she does not have good customer service at all what so ever. I wouldn't treat someone I know the way she treated me the 45 seconds I was trying to talk to her let alone a stranger and paying customer. What happened was absolute nonsense and I will most likely never be back to shop at gabes again especially if it has to come down to me speaking to her again. Honest to god she is one of the most disrespectful people I have ever met in my life and she does not need to be working around customers talking to them in...
Read morePretty decent store. Some good finds. The reason I am rating 2 stars is because the employees of this store are a bunch of grouches. The young lady working the dressing room was so mean. I mentioned that it was strange that the kids clothes had sensors that connected both the top with the bottom, making the items impossible to try on, and she very nastily said "sorry I upset you" as I was leaving the dressing room. Are you kidding me? She didn't upset me at all, so that was a weird statement that was quite obviously passive aggressive. The checkout employees forgot to take said sensor off of the clothing when we paid, and acted like it was such a hassle to have to then remove them so we could leave. I understand that working a busy Saturday could be frustrating, but you can't be rude to customers. It's not our fault you...
Read moreI absolutely adore this store! I got a bag full of top notch clothes for under $100. Most things I bought from tops to pants were $3.99-5.99. There are household goods as well. The only reason I never went here before is that I heard that the prices were low because everything they sell has a flaw. There are some items that do, so you should definitely scan to be sure. However the only thing I picked up in the store that I had to put back for this reason was a pair of sunglasses that had scratches inside a lens. Everything else was perfect. Friendly staff, and the largest and most accommodating changing rooms I've ever been in. Better than Burlington by far. All of the quality, lots of brand names, but way...
