â 1 Star â THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM, BRO. Okay, listen. This âviolin shopâ is straight-up sketchy. Their website says everything is â0 in stock,â but when you go there, theyâve got a whole WALL of violins with tags on them like itâs a museum of lies. I know this because I have had piano recitals here. Thereâs a shelf full of VL100s sitting there in plain sight, but online? âUnavailable" My friend went in looking for a Stentor Conservatoire II, and they said âyep, we got one.â She shows up and they hand her some random rip off and call it âprofessional.â --that's a SCAM. As I write this, I remember the time I sne my violin to this sacrilegious shop for new strings. Instead these nerds overcharged like $60 and RUINED MY BRIDGE. IM NOT EVEN JOKING I HAD TO GET A NEW ONE. And donât even get me started on the teachers connected to this place. They act all nice, but theyâre just trying to sell you trash for premium prices. Itâs like they get commission or something. Teachers should teach, not scam. This store is basically a scam disguised as a music shop. Fake info, fake âprofessionalâ violins, fake teachers. Theyâll take advantage of anyone who doesnât know what theyâre doing. Iâm not even joking â run the other way. If you want a real violin, donât waste your money here. This place is like the final boss of scams. Everything here screams ârip-off.â Negative 99999999999...
Read moreMy wife already left a review, but I felt the experience was disappointing enough to warrant a second. My wife has been attempting to sell an intermediate level orchestra flute. We originally went to Larsons and they recommended that we try Gilliam as they deal more with the brand we were selling.
We live in The Village and made a 40 minute trip down specifically to sell the flute to Gilliams. Mind you, we were told during the week that the flute purchaser would be available Saturday and they would be happy to help.
Upon arrival, we were told Pat (flute purchaser) was out to lunch and would not return for about 45 minutes. We came back a little over 45 minutes later and walked in just ahead of Pat. He immediately began selling a flute to someone else. When another gentleman informed him that we were waiting to sell a flute, Pat made a snide remark that he was too busy to look at and buy an entry level flute today. He never asked if we wanted to wait for him or even asked us what the flute was. Pat then walked away without so much as a sorry.
The customer service was almost non existent and I was extremely disappointed in the way we were treated as potential customers. Customers should never be treated like a burden. Would...
Read moreI completely agree with Cheryl I had almost an identical experience with Pat. I'm from north OKC and I made several calls during the week to the store as I thought I would be able to make it earlier but I was unable to make it in until Saturday due to my own work schedule. When I got to the store I was told Pat would have to look at it but he was gone for lunch and would be back in 45 minutes. I left and came back 45 minutes later and when I came back Pat was just getting ready to come in. Once he returned he began helping another customer and after waiting another 10 to 15 minutes I was told by him that he was too busy to help us and that he wasn't interested in buying a starter flute. Mind you I wasn't selling a starter flute. And if you are really so busy why don't you have appointments or just say that you don't buy instruments on the weekends so that people don't waste their time coming to your store. He also didn't ask if I would like to wait. The other gentlemen were very nice though so as long as you don't have to deal with Pat you should be okay otherwise go anywhere else. I've been to pawn shops before that had better customer...
