Do not join this gym.
The equipment is very subpar. It is old, and half the time needs maintenece or repair and is out of use for a long period of time until repaired.
Everything in the gym is filthy, specifically the weights. If you are wearing any white clothing, it will get stained with the filth and grime that has probably been there since the place was opened.
There are no usable treadmills. If you go at a pace where you have to run you are better off using a different machine, because the belts are super loose and the treadmill struggles to keep the pace while you run on it. It changes speeds and is practically unusable at anything more than a brisk walking pace.
The showers look like they haven’t been used in years, and understandably so. They are dirty and grimy. It is not an inviting locker room whatsoever (Mens)
The sauna is pointless, it does not heat up at all, even if you stay in there for 30 minutes it is essentially sitting in a slightly warm room.
For $35 a month subscription this is a very bad ROI.
Last, but not least. When I signed up to the gym, I was told there was no commitment or fee if I decided to cancel my membership, as long as I waited for one more payment after my 3 month promotion period. I was told I can cancel anytime after the initial 3 month period plus an additional month. When I did decide to cancel my membership, they forced me to pay a cancellation fee despite claiming they did not have one. They were dishonest with their claim and I imagine this will be the same for any other promotion with “no commitment”.
The gym has one redeeming quality and it is that it is much emptier than other gyms. This was my primary quality that I was looking for when I originally purchased the membership, but now I see that it is truly not worth it. I’d rather have working equipment, cleanliness, and amenities that are actually usable. The gym is really in need of an update.
So if you are looking for a gym for your New Years Resolution… look elsewhere. This is truly...
Read moreTotal Fitness Health Club has old equipment. About 5% of the equipment is not usable. The weight stacks on the ground level are missing pins. When it's busy, you must hunt down a pin, but most likely, you'll be waiting on pins. Also when busy, it could become too crowded. The gym has three levels, but it's a narrow building, and the equipment is crammed into the space.
The free weights in the basement are usually unorganized. There are not enough bars for the benches. The upstairs is for cardio, but I avoid it. It's small and crammed. The locker room (mens) is basic. No bathrooms, but one bathroom on the main level.
I joined as I can walk to this gym, and it's priced at about $33.50 per month if you do a three month contract at the right time. But even with it being a short walk, I do not like this gym. Plus, it closes at 4:00 p.m. on Sundays, although the door says open until 6:00 p.m. That annoyed me.
On the plus side, if you're okay with the small space and over-crowded feel at times, the gym does have free weights, although old, they will get the job done. For the price, this gym is not a one star, but it could be better with some effort, and it does not take much money to buy some pins for the machines weight stacks or to repair some cables on two...
Read moreReally good spot when you want to just lock in and grind out gym sessions. Don't expect LA fitness level facility. This not a "pretty" gym. I never needed the glitz and glamor which is why I love this gym. Most people who go here understand this. Great community of people, take advantage of the black Friday deal $200/yr, would love more AC but when you're a Saiyan, you grow to love the heat in the hyperbolic time...
