Cool winter afternoon got me strolling thru the nearly deserted wood plank boardwalk and seashell studded paved walkways along the Intercostal Waterway. Shops of all kind of interests can be found, from the live bees and fresh honey at the Savannah Bee Company to the the recycled sails turned tote bags at Sea Bags. From everything “purple” at PURPLEologist to everything “furry” at Faux Paws Dog Shoppe. From t-shirts to tourist trinkets, signs and sweatshirts you will find a number of shops like Crabby Jack’s General Store, Blue Moon Trading Company, Haven’s Marketplace and Tiki Jim’s. Ron Jon Surf Shop anchors one end of one of the foot bridges and the likes of It’Sugar, The Fudgery, River Street Sweets and others has your sweet tooth covered. Burgers can be found at Bully’s Pub and Grill and River City Cafe, pizza at Ultimate California Pizza, tacos at Taco Mundo and insults at Dick’s Last Resort. A number of high end restaurants can meet your fancy and fast food chains are a plenty in the area. T.I.G.E.R.S Preservation Station, The Carousal and amusement rides, some shops and eateries are closed. A large children’s play area surrounding a 200 year old oak tree, clean bathrooms and a doggy potty area, a good stretch of walking paths and well maintained grounds, plenty of parking and sights and sounds are yours for free. Do beware waters may contain alligators and/or snakes. Those encounters...
Read moreUpdate 10/06/25: Went here on Saturday October 4th 2025 with my Mom. We came here to look around at the stores, and attend the Octoberfest festival that was happening that day. The parking lot was busy, but we found a spot and was able to park. Lots of tents by the Crooked Hammock and Lulus, and my favorite part was listening to the music in the park! Granted all 70s/80's/60's songs, but they were popular hits and the ones to sing along to! Like that they had free chairs to sit in too! We went in various stores including the Olive Company, and The Christmas Mouse store. Park areas were organized and clean, and enjoyed being here! Will be back to shop or if there's another festival like this!
We visited here on Monday May 13th 2024 to check out the stores around and go to the Landshark Bar and Grill. Plenty of parking, and it's off season, so better to find a spot. It is a pretty shopping center with restaurants both local and chain, and sweet shopping spots, as well as arcades and carousel for kids (and adults alike). We also encountered a very nice woman who worked at winham vacations, and would have gave us advice about what to do around Myrtle beach, except we were leaving Wednesday. She also gave me advice about working in restaurants and with customer service which i love to do, i was just shy at the time. Glad that a helpful guide came around. Hope to come back here to check out more...
Read moreBarefoot Landing is a nice place to go on a nice day. It's an outdoor mall set up for the scheme of shop+eat+play. It is the younger sibling of the nearby Broadway at the Beach outdoor mall set up in the same way. This is a nice family area, with activities for every age. Youngins can play on the playground(s) or play free games like giant-sized Jenga or giant-sized Chess, parents can play too or join in a group class like Yoga and there's seating everywhere for those who want to watch their kids or have a drink. I've even seen people sleeping. There's some walking you can do, from the waterway to the paths between stores and parking lots, which are plentiful. There are many restaurants where you can get a good meal or drink and there's somewhat limited shopping, mostly for niche vacation items and tchotchkes. There's ice cream shops, candy shops and an arcade. Occasionally, there is live music or other some such entertainment. The only negative is that you won't find any mom and pop shops that I can see. The plus is that all of the places, even if corporate, are relatively high quality places and small chain retail and...
