I'm not sure if we just had a few new hires who were inexperienced or what happened, but the experience was not what I remembered from going when I was younger. Me and my mom went to just have a nice day out. I had been wanting to do something that reminded me of my childhood.
We were given a very brief tutorial (the colors before they are fired are a different, and how to make ur colors show up better. Ex put dark colors on top of light, not vice versa) and then basically left on our own the rest of our time there. We had a bunch of questions and ran into a lot of problems because of it. My mom had to restart her piece when her glaze started to crack as it was drying. And when we asked about stencils, the woman helping us had no idea what they had. A new, more experienced woman (maybe the owner) did end up walking around and offering almost everyone advice, help, and feedback that needed it. She seemed to really have good connection and service for the customers. However, that was when we had almost finished both our pieces.
When it came to check out, it took the original woman who had been helping us over ten minutes to ring each of us up, and she charged us both different amounts for studio time. You are charged 8$ an hour for your time spent in there. My mom had actually finished before me and was charged more than I was.
All in all, it was something I was very excited to do again, but after our experience, I probably will not be going back. We were also kind of rushed along when our hour mark hit. Even though they dont specify that you have a time limit, just that you'll be paying for your time spent there. It ended up being more stressful than it was fun because of the lack of guidance, customer service, and knowledge the staff...
Read moreExtremely rude and disorganized! We had a baby shower at this location. After several attempts to reiterate to the manager and associates about what projects we wanted to have available for the party, still failed to comprehend even through the day of. The young women who work there are rude and have absolutely no problem telling you to be quiet! They whisper comments about guests in the corner behind their clip boards and actually had the audacity to mention charging us each an additional $8 dollar fee because we ran 15 minutes over, even after I asked how much time was left and if the hostess needed to start cleaning up. I was told we could take as much time as we needed, that we were fine. The only associaits who were polite and helpful were the gentlemen working that day. I would and never recommend this place to anyone. The manager cannot correspond appropriate instructions to her...
Read moreAs an adult going here without children. The selection of items to paint was... Lacking.... But the experience was great.
All of that aside.... This is the place to bring your kids birthday party.
While we were painting there was a Birthday party for an 8 year old girl.. and the staff was ALL about that.
They engaged every kid... Made sure everyone was having a good time... Everyone in the party, boys and girls, seemed to be having a blast.
It really elevated the whole mood of the studio... Even for the two non-affiliated adults at our own table doing our own thing.
The mood was just.... Infectious...
And it was all because the wonderful staff there stayed fully engaged, and there wasn't a hint of sarcasm or cynicism.
Literally everyone that walked through the...
