This is a foodie's version of what toy stores were like when we were kids. CAM is a full sized grocer dedicated to all things edible and Asian. From stellar fresh veggies, through fresh and frozen seafood, meat and poultry and on to a staggering amount of pantry items, wandering around in this place is as much inspirational as it is just pure fun.
Wants three hundred kinds of instant noodles? Yep, they have it. Want ground Korean chili powder to make your own Kimchi? Absolutely? Need king mushrooms and silky tofu for a special recipe, you can find them both in the same aisle.
And this is not just the usual stuff either. There is a section where they carry items from the non-typical Asian countries. Russia and Kazakhstan are represented among others.
We have been there half a dozen times now and we are discovering new things every time we visit. The staff is kind and helpful, the other customers are polite and will offer suggestions and the place is clean and brightly lit.
And one of my favorite things about CAM is that even if the packaging on something is written in a language you don't understand, the shelf tag will tell you what it is. Every time! That has been worth the trip there just by itself.
Want to cook all of those dishes you are finding on Youtube and Tiktok but don't know where to get the ingredients?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably one of my favorite international stores here in the local Columbus area, aka Hilliard. I probably could spend a few hours in here looking at everything. They have a fantastic selection of fresh vegetables, both things that you can find in normal grocery stores and also things that you cannot find in our local stores. Stores. They have a fantastic selection of fresh meats ranging from your typical beef and chicken to rabbit frog legs and other delicacies. Probably my favorite section is the different ramen and the vast variety of canned teas/ sodas. For the price ranges, it's very typical for most grocery stores. You have stuff that's a little bit cheaper and then obviously some things that are a little bit more expensive. Highly recommend the store if you've never been or if you're looking for a great Korean/ Japanese/ Chinese grocery. There is some plenty of parking, they also have grocery carts and baskets available for shopping. I found that some of the local people that shop in there are very helpful and will steer you in the right direction for all your needs. One of my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to point out something for everyone before I begin: If something is on sale, I would greatly recommend checking the expiration date if it is a perishable item. There is a tag that states the item may be expired but many people miss it, so to avoid surprises when returning home with your item that was on sale please keep this in mind!
Okay, to my review. I used to work here so I will try my best to not be biased haha
There is a large selection of Asian goods and the store is quite big so many different goods are housed here! There is even a selection of European goods here which is something special here as opposed to other Asian markets you can find (granted, the store is advertised as āinternationalā, although CAM stands for āColumbus Asian Marketā so I thought it's worth pointing out).
My only gripe is how there has been a gradual wane to Taiwanese goods sold here. This was also pointed out amongst friends I have who also come to this location.
Overall, wonderful market! If you've never been here, you may find yourself looking through the selection...
