So, I went here for a 4:30 p.m. movie and the price was 1 ticket: $12 so I said "No thank you" and walked away. However, I returned the next day for the 10:30 a.m. show of "Crazy Rich Asians" (a comedy) and the price was only $6 -- a HUGE difference. What I don't appreciate about this AMC theater is that every movie has a different price point. If you see the VERY FIRST show (9:30 am, 10, 10:30 am, 11 am) the Adult price is $6 (unless you are a VIP AMC member). SENIOR CITIZENS: Any day -- $5 only. (You must be 60 and over to get the $5 price). The prices at this AMC change from movie time to movie time. This sucks! You could pay anywhere between $6 to $12. There is no real "set" price point at this AMC movie theater which is very, very strange.
Positives: The seats are similar to a lazy boy chair (recliner). Yaaaas, super comfortable! The chairs are motorized or electronic, so the button to recline da chair is round and located on the inner part of the arm rest (side, inside of the arm rest). You can adjust the foot-rest and back to your own comfort level. You will have to play around with the button before you figure out what is the BEST adjustment.
There is ample free parking. The parking lot is new and there are no more pot-holes to dodge (like years ago when this place was a dump). The "DUMP" is no longer here. If it has been years since you have been to the Norridge movie theater, it is time to hit up this new AMC Norridge movie theater. There are tons of restaurants nearby (from Culver's to Buona Beef to Portillo's to Cane's Chicken Fingers to McDonald's to Pot Belly's to Noodles to Burger King and many other nearby restaurants).
You can purchase your tickets when you arrive (at da self-service kiosks). It allows you to select your seats (I recommend Aisles D or E in the center for the best seats in da house). This beats waiting in line to purchase tickets OR you can order tickets on line (you'll pay a service fee for ordering tickets on line though).
If you are an AMC VIP member you are entitled to free refills soda & popcorn and $5 movie on Tues. ONLY.
Negatives: There are no CENTER aisles at this AMC theater. The rows are very long, which is actually nice. (Example of a negative experience): We reserved our seats only to find OTHER people sitting in our seats. We showed them our ticket stubs. They gave us a dirty look as they were not happy they had to MOVE (get out of our reserved seats). There are always any where from 20-25 minutes of "coming" attractions (commercials). I am not a fan of sitting through 20-25 minutes of commercials, so if you are like me (hate sitting through the B.S.) show up 15-20-minutes after the start time. Since this is "assigned seating" it doesn't matter if you come 5-minutes before the movie starts. For example, if the movie starts at 10 am, it really means the movie begins at 10:25 a.m.
TIPS (to save you $$$): There are tons of restaurants nearby, for example, Portillo's, Cane's Chicken Fingers, Buona Beef, Nami Sushi. There is a Thai and Mediterranean food joints ALL located on Lawrence, 1 block west of Harlem (Lawrence at Oketo). Hit up the Dollar Store (Harlem Ave near Higgins and across the street from Wendy's) & buy candy for the movie. You don't have to spend $5 for a small box of candy at the movies!
Finally, I rate this AMC theater with 4-stars based on having been here more than 12-times. The fact that the prices are different for EVERY single movie is a scam. If you want to save money go to the FIRST show. The price point for popcorn, beverages & other goodies are ridiculously high. Yes, you can get free refills on these (if you are an AMC VIP member only), but it still is not worth the price point. The employees are friendly and hospitable. It's a clean...

I heard that the movie theater in Norridge, IL was renovated two years ago but have only attended this particular theatre once since the renovation. Today was a special occasion because the movie Hustlers opened up starring Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and various women portraying the life of some female strippers. Lorene Scafaria directed the movie - I'll definitely see it again. This film was packed with tons of action, drama, comedy, alcohol, drugs, betrayal, love, and cliffhangers; I will not be giving away any information aside from that it is a must-see!
I consciously favor this specific venue because of the extra soft and fully recline-able leather seats. I never took the time to actually analyze this ecosystem and the scientifically-conscious decisions of the AMC investors. I arrived fifteen minutes early - for the first time ever in my life - to watch a movie at the theater. Today was the day to reminisce about what a theater used to be and to realize what the standard of today's theater is.
The black color engulfs the house (audience) from the back wall through the sides, up on the ceiling tiles, below on the carpet floor, and backgrounds the screen down-house. The walls are neatly adorned with abstract art to add more comfort and the "at home" feel to the guests; they're simple canvas portraits of navy blue, red, and brownish-yellow colors that accentuate the environment. The carpet was mainly a dark gray hue with yellowish-brown highlight lines running parallel to the aisles - yay more warmth! The floor/steps/entryways have neon lights for easy navigation during show times.
I love the spatial arrangement of the seats because there is a ton more room - obviously to compensate for the recliner chairs. However, the theatre accommodates fewer guests because of the bulky chairs - I am not complaining at all! I love these chairs. I am sure that this was already calculated by the owners - hence the price increase from prior to renovation. The aisles are wide and pretty accessible for all types of people. Handicap accessible seating is available and is labeled, but these seats are really close to the screens. The designers should have made a better choice for handicap accessible seats. They could have easily sacrificed the staircase/steps for a ramp which would open up the ability for a handicapped person to sit in the up-house center section - like me and many people are able to do. Ramps do not impede a physically (fully) functional person, but, the ramps allow more freedom of choice to a physically less able person. I did not fully investigate the handicap accessible seats - which I'll do next time I go. The "regular" seats are not fully singular either. They are coupled so that the middle armrest is shared between the sitting pair. This is a minor issue as the armrest is 5" wide - could easily rest an elbow next to a stranger's without having to armrest(le). The space was neat, clean, and it smelled like leather!
I watched 25 minutes of upbeat previews for "coming soon" films and wanted someone to interact with. We all were thanked for attending, reminded to turn off our mobile devices to not disrupt the movie. Of course someone had their phone ring (at full volume) in the middle of the movie (during a quiet scene) which distracted everyone. Overall I give this theater an A- because I was very pleased with the experience. In this assignment, I was reminded that every little piece of the puzzle matters. I feel that this particular movie would have been better in 3D because I truly wanted to get...
Read moreI visited this theater yesterday to watch a movie. I paid for my tickets online and for some odd reason the website was not letting me input my stub members info and for that reason ended up having to pay $43 for 3 tickets ( me, my wife and daughter). When we showed up to the theater we entered and presented our scan code . Mark informed us that our movie was playing on screen 3 to the right. Once we found out it was the wrong showing . I then returned to Mark and asked him for the 7pm showing and now informs me that it is on screen 2 to the right. I didnt think much of it because people make mistakes. Before the show starts i decided i would like a beverage. I went to the bar and looked at the menu. I then asked for a mojito. The bar tender apologizes for not having the ingredients for the drink. Disappointed i request something from the tap. After the movie i went to customer service to explain what had happened when i purchased my tickets online. Kameel was dealing with a customer and Mark was standing next to him talking about something. Im looking at Mark expecting him to ask me what i needed help with and instead he leaves the counter. So i patiently wait and Kameel finishes with his customer and begins to help me with my ticket purchasing issue, but to finish helping me he needs a scanner that Mark had. He asked Mark for the scanner and Mark decided to throw the scanner to Kameel. I mean who does that. He threw the scanner so fast and hard that it bounced out of Kameel 's hand hitting me and my wifes hands. If i would have moved slightly to the side, i would have gotten hit by the scanner in the face. This individual is throwing around company equipment and almost assaulting customers in the process. How lazy and unprofessional. After Kameel apologizes for his co-workers ignorance he proceeds to do a great job rectifying my ticket purchase issue , i ask to speak with the manager. Jim the manager shows up and i explain tho him what had just happened. He also apologizes for Marks behavior and explains he is going to have a word with Mark about his work ethic. I also explain to Jim i need Mark to apologize to me and my wife and after Jim speaks with him, Mark walks over to us apologizing for his antics. This was a big display of unprofessional behavior and i hope this situation is...
