Saar's Super Saver Foods — Attraction in Oak Harbor

I love the Asian isle that they have there, but some of the people that work there are super mean. I had gone in there with a friend once and my friend had bought me some tampons. My friend goes out to the car as I go straight to the restroom there, which was filthy and stinky, but I did what I needed, and then I go to leave the store. As I am walking out the front door of the store I had the box of tampons in my hand and before I could completely make it out the door, this young man grabs my wrist and tries to take the box of tampons from me. He was trying to say that I stole them and as I said, "I didn't steal these, I have a receipt," he raised his voice and said, "No you did not!" it was super ridiculous cause the guy at the check stand, who just sold them to us, was just staring. But I pulled the receipt out of my pocket and showed it to the guy that grabbed me and he gets all pissy and says to me, "well when you buy something from this store, you need to leave with those items, not go into the bathroom!" ARE YOU F** KIDDING ME?! IT WAS A BOX OF TAMPONS! I AM A WOMAN AND I HAVE A PERIOD, AND THIS DUDE IS TELLING ME THAT IT IS NOT OKAY FOR ME TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF AS SOON AS I HAVE...

Saars in Oak Harbor has the lowest prices in town on alot of their grocery items.The meat department has great butcher staff that dont mind being questioned at all! The prices in this department is really economic,definitely lowest in town and the quality is good. The produce is usually pretty good yet sometimes youll be searching for nicer fruits or veggies throughout the bunches. Our Saars has lots to choose from ...if they dont have it elsewhere youll be likely to find it here! Great asian and mexican aisles...oh and their deli...awesome...best fried chicken in town , guaranteed! Theres also a pharmacy with later than most others business hours. ...dont let me forget the postal service for any of those needs and right out front is a coffee/mocha stand that serves all the coffee/latte/smoothie cravings we all might have. Topping the list off of course is the over friendly and helpful staff...in every department..., it wouldnt be the store they are without them...always happy and helpful making sure you found what...

Been a local since 1984. Been supporting my local businesses since this store was located where the dollar store is. I believe it was called Thriftway. We went in last night to buy food to make for unexpected company. Made said food and the buns were extremely moldy. Kinda messed up the whole meal. Took the buns back today to replace it to have the "manager" tell my 15 year old and her dad that it wasn't bought there. He would replace it this once. My daughter came home in tears. So I dug through the nasty garbage to find receipt. You bet they drove back to show the receipt. I guess customers aren't a high priority at this store anymore. I will not be going back due to the disrespectful manager. To bad because the rest of the staff are good people. Not the first time we have bought moldy food there. We still tried to support our local store. I can't with this downhill...
