Unfortunately at this location the manager is rude has no empathy and shows no remorse even when the error was on their end. I purchased a modular storage unit. Drove about 8 miles home. When I got home excited about my purchase I opened the box to discover zero hardware which at first I thought it was a manufacturer error but I continued to search I discovered a check list with michaels webpage printed out and hand writing all over the instructions this was a unit returned to the store. And was repackaged with no parts and the previous customers paper work in the box. I called the store and asked for a manager explained my discovery and her response was rude. “Yeah! What do you want me to do about it!” She told to bring it back for a refund or exchange. I drive back to the store the cashier was polite and express empathy. The manager comes over with the same exact attitude like I’m disturbing her and say to me. “ I can give your money or you can get another one” in a rude demeaning manor towards me. I say I want to get the same unit again. As this was a planned purchase a kind time coming. She replied. “ Well go to the back and see if we have another one in stock if we don’t then I guess your getting your refund”
The problem with all of this is, I’m your client base I’m a paying customer I’m launching my home business and will need regular orders filled but this experience was dis-tasteful. She treated me as if I was a nuisance and for me to check if they have it in the back. Your store sold me a pre-owned item and you couldn’t even check your inventory to see if you have it in stock you make me walk across your store and check for myself and carry a large box up to the front to rectify an error that should have never occurred.
The one thing she never did was apologize for what happened in any way. She was rude towards me the entire time.
This trickles down into your staff and the overall experience is a store of rude employees whom treat as if your a bother for choosing your company as an option to purchase from. Ocala Florida Michaels needs to correct their behavior you need a new manager. ASAP. Your location is not in a position to treat your clients this way.
Especially with Jo-Ann and Hobby Lobby with in a 1 mile radius of your store.
Please restructure your store the staff deserves a better manager to lead by example so that our experience as your customer base...
Read moreI had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at this Michael’s location. I went in with a $5 rewards coupon, and instead of helping me redeem it, the cashier and the manager told me to call the 1-800 number to resolve it myself. At other Michael’s stores, managers have always been willing to resolve these kinds of issues right away, but this manager refused to even try.
When I explained that it’s her responsibility to assist customers with store coupons, she dismissed me and even said she wasn’t going to help me because I “wasn’t nice” to her. That is completely unprofessional. I felt targeted and disrespected—especially as a Spanish-speaking customer, which makes me believe there was discrimination involved. When I told her that, she just brushed it off by saying, “there we go again,” which only made things worse.
Because she refused to help and even said she was going to walk away from me, I started filming the interaction. Only after I began recording did she finally come back and solve the issue. This was not about the $5 coupon—it was about me being Spanish and being treated like I am not a human being.
If corporate reads this, I would be glad to provide the video I recorded of the incident and discuss what happened in detail. Michael’s should hold their managers accountable for treating all customers with respect and...
Read moreMe and two friends came in one evening to puchase various types of paint. They do a ton of artwork and painting of car parts and guitars. We asked for assistance to look at the more expensive type of spray paint. The older woman asked us what we were using the paint for. We figured she was just curious. We told her that we were painting a mural in my friend's garage. We showed her pictures of the half-finished project and then she immediately began to scold us for using spray paint on walls. We assured her that we were painting on private owned property. A beautiful mural at that. She said she didn't believe us and refused to sell us the paint since we were using it for "illegal purposes". This was not your typical cheap spray paint that kids use on trains. This was the expensive stuff behind display glass. After arguing back and forth with the lady, she still refused to sell the paint and she even called for assistance and told them that we were very suspicious. The woman she called over seemed to be embarrassed by the accusation. Absolutely unbelievable. Can't make this stuff up. We never got the paint. And we were told to leave. As we were leaving, another young girl apologized and completely understood that we were in fact NOT using the paint for vandalism. She too was embarrassed about...
