AK Pho & Boba Tea — Restaurant in Ocala

Today was my first visit here at AK Pho. I’ve been wanting to go since they opened. I have been looking forward to having Pho in Ocala. I moved here last Summer & have been SO disappointed in the fact there’s no Pho restaurants in Ocala. I do go across the street to Ayuttaya Thai & get Thai soup to feed my addiction, but I have been wanting Pho for a long time! They did not disappoint!

When I came in, I was greeted & sat down immediately. I got the Pho Tai (#3) & Taro milk tea. The Taro milk tea was on of the best Taro teas I’ve ever had (& I’ve tried soo many!). The packaging also with the cute clear top, to the pink straw, was a nice/cute touch. The Pho was amazing! The ratio to beef to noodles was perfect. At first I thought it wasn’t enough broth, but after eating my entire bowl it ended up being perfect! The veggies were fresh & a good amount was given! I also love the chili oil they had too!

The prices did go up since opening so I took some pictures to update everyone on the menu prices!

Overall, I highly recommend! Not the best Pho I’ve ever had, but the only place to get Pho in Ocala & tastes very good! I’ll definitely be back!

UPDATE: I went today for my 2nd time ever, 2 years later. I got the chicken pho. It was delicious. I made it spicy to my liking and left so full. I also got the Thai boba tea. It was soo delicious. I will be back again more often.

UPDATE AGAIN: 5 stars still! I had such a great experience. I got all the toppings I wanted for my pho with a great portion amount. The flavor of everything was exceptional too. I highly recommend and I hope they stay here forever! I don’t go often as I’d like, but when I do go I just...

I've been to this business a few times since opening under new name (and I think new owners). It's an upgrade from the previous as I had only been there once before. It's a small restaurant with limited seating, but I've never seen it crowded. You can dine in or take out. The food that I have had has been good and the service is as well. Not a long wait from ordering to receiving. The first time I came here under the new name, they would come over while you were still eating and have you pay. I felt that was a little overboard for a sit-down restaurant. The last few times that I went back, that had not been the case. Glad they stopped that, it was kinda rude. This is one of the better tasting Vietnamese food establishments that I have had.

Update: I went there today and it is my last time going there. The guy wanted to sit me at the counter near the entrance door when a table was available in the dining area. When he brought my appetizer then my order, he just put it down on the table, said nothing and walked away... I had to ask for utensils. Nobody came to check and see if I needed anything or if the meal was ok. It wasn't until I had eaten everything that the female came and asked if I needed anything else. I paid with cash and sat there for another 15 minutes before leaving without giving a tip. Service is just as important as quality of food. I can find another Asian restaurant....they will need me before...

If you have a guy named Kevin (tall Vietnamese, the owner of the restaurant) serves you, he’s the worst!! I worked there and he is the MOST SELFISH BOSS EVER! We all take turns to serve tables and yet he will always steal the big party tables because he’s the boss! When he sees big parties coming and he’s in the kitchen, he will run out and get that party even though there are enough servers. He takes 10% of employees’ tips by the end of the day because he’s the boss! He only pays $6 an hour and the minimum wage for tipped employees right now is $8.98. The restaurant is super crazy busy today that there are people waiting on tables; and yet the boss told me to go to lunch. That’s because he wants to take all that tables for himself so that he can take all the tips for himself. I have never see such a thing when restaurants gets so busy but yet the boss tells you to take a break. How ironic!! So he wants people to work for him but yet he always takes the big parties and to go orders for himself. So how will the employees make money when he does things over and over again? And this is not one time or two time things that has happened. It happens every single day!! That’s why employees (front and back employees) quit all the time at this place due to this kind of boss!! So if you are thinking of working for this restaurant, you better run...
