My husband and I both called today and both spoke to the same guy. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. My husband didn't know if he was calling the correct number and asked if they were the owner of the Oceanic Pier and the man refused to tell him, and the conversation continued to go south from there. I didn't know what number he had called, so I pulled up the website and spoke to a man (ended up being the same phone # he had called. Husband is a truck driver and he wasn't able to touch the phone to see what # he had called). The hours of operation that he told me do not match the website. Website says 24 hrs, then below it, it says 7 to midnight, but he told me 7 to 10, and when i questioned the difference, his answer was rude and acted like I was the idiot. It's not my fault that their website has 2 sets of times, both of them incorrect. Then I asked him about the fishing and the weather. He said the fishing has been bad because of the storms, so I asked him what the weather was going to be like the upcoming weekend, because my husband would be traveling 5 hrs to get there and the local ppl would know more about the weather than the weather channels. He told me, "look up the weather, you will be all right". Huh? Tad bid sarcastic there? It's called customer service, maybe they should learn the meaning of the word. There are 2 piers in that area, we will definitely be choosing...

Oh by the way the 100. and some odd dollars i spent there on bait and equipment wont happen again. __ In response to the owner i didnt make a scene i was low on my voice when i told him about it the old couple next to us didnt even notice till we left.My daughter couldnt even cast he sat down 3 feet from her. Lots of other benches wide open the 2 benches we where using was in the corner so an area of 10 feet or less for 4 of us fishing and u want to sit amoungst us. I would exspect elbow fishing on the first day of trout in PA or if the pier was full. But all is good we wont be back so your wedmaster can fish where he wants. If nothing else my daughter felt as though he was to close for...
Read moreEvery time I visit OC I come here to fish people always confuse themselves on reviews. Oceanic Pier is the Inlet not the beach pier. You are closer to the water here than the other pier. You can do a pier walk if you don't want to fish. You want to fish the cost as of 2019 is $8 for all day. All day people you can leave and come back as long as you have your date stamped tag.
You didn't or you don't have a rod you are in luck cause you can rent or buy one to fish. They have all the tackle you need as they are not only a pier store they are a bait and tackle shop. Hooks, sinkers, floats, nets, traps, rigs, frozen and live bait. Yes people you want clothing so you can advertise or have it as a souvenir they have hoodies and t shirts.
Can they offer you the beach No but they sell drinks and snacks for your needs. The staff is definitely helpful for what's biting and information. They are not there just to up sale you they will help you with rod reel set ups and bait if needed. I so dig this pier you would too when you...
