We used to stay at the Sea Chambers every year for a decade but hadn't been back in 9 years. Since then, they remodeled and even rebuilt a building. The pool area was remodeled and there is a hot tub and fire pits with chairs and lots of tables and chairs on the deck overlooking the water.
We stopped in to see if we can get 2 nights for the following day. We had been staying with family inland but wanted some alone time by the water. We were able to get a last minute 2 night stay but we would need to switch rooms for the 2nd night.
We stayed in rooms 75 and 76. Both rooms overlook the pool and are in the new building that also houses their office/check-in desk. Both rooms were super clean and spacious. Room 75 is huge with a sitting area and large bathroom and kitchenette. There was plenty of space for our clothes in the closet. The bathroom could use a nightlght and more space for towels and toiletries.
The next day, we had to move to the room nextdoor. The staff said they would move our stuff for us if we were going to be out for the day but we saw that they started cleaning the room early and we were able to move before our trip to Kennebunkport.
Room 76 was also super clean. They did such great job and even gave us bottle of champagne for our anniversary and a note for a happy birthday both of which must have been in their computer system from years ago. This room was smaller and had a seperate bedroom with a bed and dresser presumable for a child but bid enough for one adult. This was the perfect space to put all of our stuff. There was also a kitchenette an a small sitting area with 2 chairs. The bathroom was a good comfortable size.
Staying here is such a delight. We did go in the hottub which was nice and hot and we sat by the firepits both nights. We will not hesitate to return to the...
Read moreWe have been coming to the area for over 40 years, but it was our first time staying at this hotel. We absolutely loved it and would come back and stay again. Small, charming, clean, and awesome location.
Highlights: It was very clean. Our room was spotless and bed was made really pretty. They had attentive staff everywhere. I was surprised at the amount of staff they had for a smaller hotel. The staff were so nice. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Lots of outdoor seating, outdoor lighting at night, and great prime location. The breakfast was perfect and convenient. Rooms were modern, and loved all the amenities. Two sinks was so helpful. Lots of storage, Ironing board, hairdryer, Toiletries, even paper towels. Love the 24/7 coffee and filtered water. Would stay again without question. We did love it!
Things they could improve, but honestly was great regardless:
The breakfast was fantastic, but would be easier if you put a bunch of toasters in the breakfast room, or one big industrial toaster. Annoying to bring it back to your room to toast.
Suggest putting numbers on the parking spots, each room gets one numbered spot, then an area for overflow.
They need a ramp or some stairs at the dock for people to use at low tide for walking access to the beach. We could see the beach, and wanted to just walk over, even in a bit of water, but dock was too high to get off and back on it.
Need more fire pits or a sign up sheet for people to use them for one hour at a time. Some people claimed them from dusk until they shut...

Cons Very stiff mattresses with no give or softness, making a restful night elusive. No toaster or dining tables available in the breakfast room, though a toaster is available in each room. The breakfast is 8 to 10. 7:00 to 10:00 would be better. The pool could open earlier as many people are heading out somewhere...
