A very, very disappointing experience.
I spent $200 here on a decorative scarf here for my wife just before my return flight to NYC from a lovely visit to Nebraska to see the Sandhill crane migration. Unfortunately, my wife did not care for the scarf, and I thought I would just send it back for a refund. However, I was told by the artist, who took way to long too respond to my emails, that the co-op’s policy did not allow for the return of “wearable” items and that there was nothing she could do.
Of course, the co-op (at least the two artists answering the phone) both told me the opposite — that it was the artist’s policy, not the co-op’s and there was nothing they could do. One of the women I spoke with did offer to pass on my concerns to co-op board members and that one of them would get back to me, though she was doubtful they could help. That was several weeks ago and I haven’t heard back from them.
Bottom line, the art is OK, nothing extraordinary (go to the Hastings College arts center to see some really terrific work), and don’t shop here if you want professional customer service...

There is no admission fee but there is a free will donation collection.
First Fridays are fun here and they usually have drinks/snacks and some music playing.
Come support local art! They have art at all price points.
There is a pay parking lot right in front of the gallery that's really convenient. The front door is on the...
Read moreInteresting work but a peculiar experience. My now 13 year old son and I travelled through Omaha and Des Moines taking in as much art as possible. We generally take a photo and post it on our Instagram in the hope of sharing the gallery/artist with a wider audience. Someone from this space came running in to tell us "You can't be taking pictures in here!" OK then. Taking a picture of a Jackson Pollock at Joslyn Art Museum is fine. Edward Hopper at Des Moines Art Center: also fine. Taking pictures of anything at Artists' Cooperative Fine Art Gallery: not OK....
