I love going to this store to try the various Asian products that you just can't get anywhere else. I've lived three years in Japan and spent literally YEARS all over Asia. I enjoy the food and cultures. When I cook, I often come here because I can find fresh bean sprouts and chilis, as well as baby bok choy and exotic fruits like dragon fruit which are very hard to find elsewhere. However, getting fresh fish is very difficult since the Mexican guys working the counter ignore you, no matter how many people are standing waiting there. You need to shoot off a cannon or something to get their attention. Then one day I ordered six live lobsters and the sneaky guy gave me four that were missing a claw--he put them in the bag quickly before I could see them. I don't know why it's just the fish counter--the rest of the store is bustling and, while not FRIENDLY, it's at least not rude. But not the Mexican guys at the fish counter. Nevertheless, if you want many different types of rice, ramen, spices, and Asian crockery, this is the place to come. Much larger than other Asian markets in the area. Indian spices, Korean kimchee, Thai eggplant, Japanese rice, it's all here. If they fixed the fish department they would get a five...
Read moreI had a terrible experience on 5/02/2025. It is too awful. I came to the restroom at 8:05 PM to pee. However, a female employee informed me that the restroom was "closed." The female employee was wearing plastic gloves at that time. This indicates that the cleaning process had not yet begun. Then I tried to contact the store manager, but there was no store manager available at that time. I had to wait for 10 minutes. Then, I saw a young woman approach me. She said , "I am a store manager." I let her know about my unpleasant experience using the restroom in the store. She said, "I am sorry for that." Then she did nothing to solve the problem causing my awful experience at that time. I just wanted to let everyone know the truth: please use the restroom to relieve yourself before visiting the Asian Market, as the store's employees will not allow you inside its toilet. The store won't punish workers who mistreat customers. This reflects my personal experience. My experience to visit the Asian Market is that I will make sure to use the bathroom before visiting the Asian Market for shopping because I may have to pee without the toilet. Alternatively, I'll put on a diaper before heading to the Asian...
Read moreProbably the best asian market in town. Way cheaper than most asian market around omaha and especially lincoln. Their produce is always fresh. My family occasionally drove from lincoln to omaha just to shop here. Although some of the item can be found cheaper at walmart and other white groceries store. Those are usually common item and brand. But when it comes to specific item and brand, this store cary everything you need to make delicious asian food.
They also recently open a restaurant inside. I usually don't trust chinese restaurant here in the midwest cause most place always make "american" chinese food. Majority taste like frozen cooked and not fresh as well. Today I ordered the BBQ pork fried rice (which is super basic) and it is very well done and yummy. I can tell it is fresh ingredient instead of old stuff like other restaurant. It is also cheap. If you want to eat basic asian dishes like fried rice, noodle soup and etc, this will be the place to get quick, fresh , high quality and convinient and cheap for your pocket. Other than that I would go to a real restaurant for a specific dish. Also check out their pastry as well. It's not some ordinary boring...
