My husband and I had gone to the old TCI since 2010 and, in fact, spent out honeymoon there! We have been coming to the NEW Terra Cotta Resort since we first heard it was open last year in September. As we live close enough for an easy drive we often go for day use and on special occasions we go for a few nights' stays during the year (Anniversary, birthdays, summer special etc). There's always a room made available where day-use guests can leave their bags/clothes.
I don't even know where to begin to write about this resort - I love EVERYTHING about it! We knew Tom (the manager) and his wife MaryClare from being guests at THEIR Terra Cotta Inn many years ago and in a lot of ways this resort is run much the same though with a different owner, John.
John (and the rest of the staff) is very friendly and engaging with his guests and strives to provide the ultimate nude sun-bathing experience. He also added a few fitness options to the amenities. Dumbbells, yoga mats, bicycles & helmets - all complementary - as well as early morning walks/jogs on select days.
I took advantage of the dumbbells, yoga mat and bicycle this past trip. Usually I bring my own bike but since they offer complimentary bikes I didn't see the point of hassling with mine. John was very kind and helpful in making sure the seat was at the height I needed as well as ensuring the bike was safe to ride so I could enjoy my ride around town.
There are several REALLY large umbrellas situated around the pool as well as many smaller ones by the loungers. Most of them have solar-powered LED lights which look spectacular at night. The roof-top sundeck has wicker loungers as well as an umbrella; you get a spectacular view from up there at night!
There's a bathroom/shower directly below the sundeck as well as a brand-new double outdoor shower - both have complementary body wash/shampoo/conditioner dispensers.
Breakfast consists of coffee/tea, cereal/oatmeal, orange juice, jam/honey/peanut butter, croissants, bagels, whole wheat muffins as well as sweet pastries, fresh fruit, and hard-boiled eggs.
For lunch you have the option to order from a local business - one of the staff always comes around before lunch time with order sheets - or just step out for a while as the resort is very close to downtown with many options to choose from.
John offered fresh-made pineapple sorbet mid-afternoon which was delicious and he mentioned they are working on a peanut butter/banana concoction next!
Afternoon snacks, wine and fresh strawberries at 4pm. Snack offerings vary and usually consist of a hot baked item (taquitos, mini corn dogs, bagel bites etc) and any combination of nuts, vegetable plate, cheese platter, chips/pretzels and cookies.
Our room has a kitchenette with an apartment-size refrigerator/freezer, two-burner stove top and microwave along with pots, basic utensils, dishes and silverware.
The spa is currently undergoing improvement (made much larger!) but we were assured it will be ready for use by Labor Day weekend (barring any unforeseen delays). Either way, it will be awesome and I'm looking forward to experiencing it!
I also enjoyed a massage this trip and am happy to report that the massage therapist was very kind and professional. Aromatherapy is optional and complementary! Will definitely book with her again!
There's a LOT of complementary things offered here - all designed with the guests' ultimate comfort in mind.
Whether you are considering your FIRST nude-sunbathing vacation or looking for a new place to try out - I highly recommend giving the Terra Cotta Hotel Resort & Spa a try! My husband and I are hearing impaired so we don't normally engage in socializing but other guests do and are meeting old and new friends...
Read moreFrom the looks of it mine will be the first negative comment. It about a particular staff member. I did not get her name. Short, younger looking female working later in day. Apparently, she was the only staff member at the time. I was trying to do a food delivery. I waited between 10-15 minutes for someone to show up in office. I had already messaged the person who ordered. This girl walks in with an attitude asking what I want, Why am I there. I told her the guests name. She knew she by the pool. I asked if she could ask her to step inside to pick up her order. Yes, I already know it is a clothing optional place. All guest had to do was confirm her name so I knew she was getting her order. The front desk female starts in with her mouth. She was carrying on and on. In the end she got cussed out! First of all Tom! I did not and would not want to go looking at nude people poolside. I did not ask to do that nor would I want to do that. Get your facts correct from your employee who did not give you true information. I am Gay, so why would I want to wonder around a straight nudist resort? Second! When she finally showed up, time can be verified with Uber how long I waited she already was in a bad mood. I am positive by your defensiveness she did not tell you how she acted when she walked into the office. Key facts that she left out, obviously because she knew she was in the wrong. All I asked was if the guest could verify she was there. I said if you could have her call, text or just pop her head around the window. That was all I asked for. Like you I did not want my rating lowered because someone did not get their delivery. I did not say anything about the property. I actually have stayed at that before, when it was a Gay resort. So, I know it is a well kept place. I suggest have another conversation with her and ask for the truth about how she started her conversation with me and also the wait time, which you...

We were long time visitors to the old Terra Cotta and were sorry it closed. So, we first visited John and the great folks at TCI a year ago shortly after they opened. We then saw it as a Work In Progress and, after a year, now it is truly a great venue for folks looking for a CO or Naturist experience. They are still ironing out a few wrinkles but are very proactive and listen to visitors ideas and any concerns. Plenty of off street parking, a salt water pool plus a new and enlarged hot tub. Plenty of loungers and large towels are available plus the usual continental breakfast and PM Fruit and Wine by the pool.
Most of P.S. is a $7 Uber away but the resort is also in walking distance to several restaurants and a Ralph's Supermarket.
We had a nice room with a kitchen and fridge, comfortable bed and nice amenities. It was good to visit with John, Tom, Vanessa, Jose and Julio and we are already booked for...
