This gorgeous place is truly perfect in every way. I am so grateful to have found it. I had not been to Palm Springs in 30 years! I realize how subjective any lodging experience can be, so I will share some highlights that would instantly help me make the decision to stay here, were I the one reading this.
The standard of cleanliness is very high, which is a BIG deal for me. Details are important at Les Cactus. The rooms are pristine. I was able to be shoes-free and my feet stayed as clean as they do at home. The bedding and towels are cotton, and the detergent is either fragrance-free, or rinses away so well that it might as well be. No fragrances are used in the rooms (THANK YOU!).
There is no carpet in the rooms, apart from one rug (under the bed) that is well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, open, bright, well-lit, absolutely lovely, and as air-conditioned as you desire them to be, which is adjustable via remote (in my room the remote was hand-held, but I think the one in my friend’s room was located on the wall). You can also turn off the A/C, or merely use it in fan mode if it gets too chilly.
The grounds are immaculate. The aesthetic is inviting, delightful, and impeccable. You will find a large pool, hot tub (the jets feel fantastic; you may ask for them to be turned on), a few hammocks, numerous green plants, colorful flowers, trees, cacti, hummingbirds, butterflies, and heart-opening views from the sweet little deck upstairs. Whether rain or shine, I loved every moment. If you are looking for a stay wherein meditative states are possible without even trying, this is one such place.
The people who work here are warm, kind, and wonderful: Daniela, Richard, and Andy are all spectacular. I cannot say enough good things about Les Cactus. Everything about this treasure of a place made me want to remain there and never leave. Every day, I extended my stay, “Just one more day.” I wish I could have stayed for a month (or a year!).
If I move to Palm Springs, it will be largely thanks to the experience of staying here. Thank you so very much for everything. I felt such a natural sense of peace, ease, happiness, and joy, and also got very good rest. I cannot wait to return. What a gift. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙏🏻⭐️💫
There are only two or three items I would change or improve if I could. Given the overwhelmingly (((POSITIVE))) experience I had here (for five nights, split into one and four-night stays), these do NOT warrant a decrease in my overall rating.
The water pressure in the shower, which in my room was very low, could be better. This is not uncommon at even the best hotels and Airbnbs. Luckily, I currently have a shaved head, so it was doable.
I did at times wish the pool and jacuzzi were open until 10pm. However, 7am to 9pm is not bad, and you can still be outside enjoying the evening after hours. The extra hour or pool and hot tub use at night would be welcome.
My friend also stayed here (in another unit), and has back trouble. For her, the bed was much too soft, so she tried to sleep on the floor using the provided yoga mat (another added in-room bonus, by the way), but for her, this one detail was sub-optimal.
I, too, at times, find soft mattresses/bedding painful. At home, for the last decade, I have slept on a four-inch trifold pad, placed directly on the floor, and it is the perfect balance between soft and firm (zero pain). For whatever reason, the bed at Les Cactus did NOT cause a problem for me (while the Airbnb I lived in for 31 days prior to arriving there definitely DID, and it was a miserable experience at times).
I certainly would not mind a bit more firmness for the mattresses at Les Cactus, but as of August 2025, I had no issue in terms of comfort: my sleep and rest were not disturbed, and I had no pain...

We typically make it out to Palm Springs for a weekend get-a-way at least once per year, if we are lucky, we may squeeze in a second.
We decided to get out of town in early May, hoping to take advantage of some decent pre summer weather. It worked, and we found a little gem of a boutique hotel.
We tend to change our venues to see what each spot has to offer, this time we chose Les Cactus. A 27 room boutique hotel that’s been around for a while, part of our experience is experiencing older facilities to enjoy the charm of old Palm Springs.
We staying in room 14, small, but roomy enough for two, and a lot of charm for sure. Clean room, very cozy bed, very quiet, with a great mini split keeping us nice & cool day & night. The parking was great and plentiful. I was able to park on the side of where our room was. Very nice, the property was very spacious with opportunities for swimming, hammocks, and a toasty jacuzzi.
They served a basic breakfast which was great, as it gave us some fuel for a local hike. Everyone sat around the pool while having breakfast, each room received a basic with bananas, and a croissant. They also provided yogurt, granola, jam coffee and tea.
The staff were quiet and friendly. It was like they were not even there.
My wife loved the decor in the office was a traditional Palm Springs boho style with a strong emphasis of comfort.
Very pink in color and theme, but done tastefully. I’m guessing at some point there were a couple of additional rooms added at some point throughout the years, but they were added in as if they were meant to be, either that, or maybe it was all original, who knows.
They stress strongly respecting the guests quite time, and we didn’t hear a peep.
Our rooms shower was a small tucked in corner unit, more than likely, original construction, however this space is pretty large and in my opinion under utilized. Being a contractor, and a land lord, I realize the importance of space, and being able to offer options that wow people. I can imagine a nice soaking tub in this unit for two. A sizable separate shower with still enough space for a closet. The current corner shower is not the best, space wise or function wise. It was pretty difficult to adjust the temperature, and the positioning of the shower head was not great, as normal with hotels or motels the water volume wasn’t the best, in fact, I’d be surprised if we received 1 gallon a minute flowing out. The bathroom window doesn’t open, just old, so it held a lot of humidity.
I’m having to be very specific on my thoughts and critiquing minimal things just to share, but keep in mind all & all it’s till a solid 5star review.
I would recommend any and all to give it a shot. Friendly quiet guests, all the amenities you’d need. A great...
Read moreCute place. Unfortunately the staff is untrained and unprofessional. Besides Daniella who’s an excellent host, the rest of the staff are rude and intrusive.
The old guy is completely disrespectful, he moved all my stuff from the pool chair when I stepped away to my room to use the restroom and put them by the water jug! (mind you the pool was empty). I later go to him to book more nights, he was unwilling to help and asked me to book it myself on their website.
The free breakfast is great; but when you go to grab it, whoever is serving that day, will observe you while you grab your stuff. Very uncomfortable. They walk around the pool and look at you. And yes the staff is around all day.
On the last day, after spending 10 nights and a lot of $$, I checked out from my room and INFORMED the host that day - Ana- that I will spending some time by the pool.
A couple hours later, I was laying by the pool area, the host Ana calls me while she is staring at me through the glass of the front desk: “I’m gonna ask you to start wrapping up so we can prepare for other guests” !!!!
I would have gladly left by a specific time if I had been informed in advance especially after telling Ana that I will be by the pool. Plus, the pool and common areas were mostly empty, so I don't understand how my presence would have hindered their preparations. I understand that there may be policies in place, but I believe that some flexibility and courtesy should be extended to guests, especially when the property is not at full capacity. Most hotels offer basic courtesy to their guests, such as allowing them to stay by the pool if they have a later flight or trip, and providing luggage storage, etc. I was not offered anything and simply told to leave at that moment.
This incident left me feeling disrespected, and unwelcome.
Conclusion, it’s a cute place to take pictures but that’s it. If you’re someone who values good professional service, stay...
