We have just returned from our few days stay at the Hacienda Resort in Palm Springs . We chose this resort because the advertisement for the facility itself was very promising-“My attention to detail, pampering, comfort, and an unrivaled world-class service experience set me uniquely apart from any other gay or mainstream hotel or resort in Palm Springs and the World. Experience the perfect stay “ . It is easy to make promises, but it is much more difficult to keep those promises. I have no idea why the owners believe that Hacienda is a perfect combination between exclusivity, sophistication, design and technology. Resort is not very big, 9 suits or rooms sorounding a two small pools and one jacuzzi. All suits have a view for this swimming pools except "patio room" No 5 which we booked. We regretted very much our choice but when we made a reservation just a 3 weeks before arriving, only 2 options were available. Palm Springs this is the essence of the Sun, Light , Air , Palms and Modernism . Room no 5 was the exact opposite of all this. Situated between the laundry room, whose work can be heard through the wall from 6:00 a.m. and the door to the service passage with a view of a grey wall with a bush, approximately 2.5 m from the entrance to the room. because of this , our room was dark and gloomy the whole time . The proximity of the high wall and the plant touching the roof prevented any light from coming through. It was depressing, frustrating and claustrophobic. The other rooms do not have this problem, so avoid booking room no. 5, the standard of which is significantly different from the others in the complex. I would like to mention that the Hacienda is not your typical hotel or resort that we have stayed in all over the world. It does not have the typical reception, concierge desk, bellboys, restaurants, bars, spa or gym fascility that luxury boutique hotels or resorts have. The staff are only present between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm. No one greeted us with wine, water and towels and the room keys were waiting in a locker. Hacienda offers self-service breakfast , mainly cold lunch options , which you have to order in advance and you have a choice of 5 different wraps or 5 salads. It's good that this option exists because in the immediate vicinity of Hacienda there are no restaurants or other food options. The atmosphere in the resort is very pleasant, the other guests are very friendly and sociable. Quiet music seeps from the speakers and you can relax, sunbathe or sit at the tables around the pools. I must admit that the employees take great care of cleanliness and order. Housekeeping performed their duties impeccably. My only suggestion is that pool towels were not available and you need to carry them from a rooms .The Sunbeds have a white cotton covers with the facility's logo. Hacienda has a good location and in 10-15 minutes taxi ride you are at the airport or the main shopping/entertainment street.|Generally , choosing this resort is not a bad idea, there is a nice atmosphere, cleanliness and order. Unfortunately neither the decor nor the standard of the resort or service predisposes the owners to advertise this facility as ultra luxurious, modern with very personal service. Admitting this would be an insult and would assume a lie to all those many really high end facilities we have been to all over the world on 6 continents. One more comment confirming our above opinion, we made the decision about this trip 3 weeks before but the reason was the birthday and at the same time the anniversary of our wedding. This information was included in the reservation and reminded in the breakfast order the previous day. it was the first time ever that a hotel, if we informed about it, completely ignored this information and no one from the service or management even expressed wishes not to mention anything else. on the day of our birthday/anniversary, which was a last day before departure. Instead we received a card from a management & stuff , thanking us for s staying at Hacienda with a wishes for a good...
Read moreYou will not find another resort in Palm Springs like The Hacienda because it does not exist. It just feels amazing to be here. Even before you enter, you feel the lush desert landscape with beautiful blooms. The property includes two villas, each with 5 rooms and each surrounding a pristine, crystal clear oversized, heated pool. The rooms are spacious, meticulously cleaned to perfection with a personalized welcome basket waiting for you. All rooms have a private patio. The bathrooms include amazing two-men showers with first-class bath products and luxurious linens and robes. In the front of the property, there is a giant in-ground spa next to a beautiful hand-built fireplace that sets a beautiful mood at night as you watch the stars. During the day, you'll trade stars for butterflies and hummingbirds. The folks behind this world-class resort have done their homework. They have clearly studied what it takes to create a one-of-a-kind special experience and they constantly perfect it. For 13 years, The Hacienda has been a home away from home for us and we have literally stayed in every room on the property... Not only because it is for us a gorgeous sanctuary but because of the incredible personalized service we receive... whether the embroidered pillows on the bed with our names on them, the personalized welcome basket, the hugs from Steve, Robbie, Daniel, Paul, the attention to every need you might have during your stay, or the expansive (and included!) breakfast and lunch every single day.. margarita reception every Saturday - no wonder you never want to leave!! The guests we have met over the years are also incredibly friendly, fun and fabulous - icing on the cake! The Hacienda has a staff to guest ratio of 1:1!!, something you only see with major 5-star hotels with impeccable reputations for service. That is EXACTLY what The Hacienda is all about. We are grateful to have met such wonderful people who care so much about making sure we have a great time, every time! Much love to the entire staff at...
Read moreEssentially: the price is high for what is offered. We stayed in the most expensive room for two nights and the cheapest room for one night and we had the same issues in both rooms.
Positives: The pools and the food are lovely, fresh, and well presented. The housekeeping staff made us feel like family. The lunch is lovely and served on porcelain, the iced tea is amazing, the breakfast is continental and well presented. There is a pillow menu. The bedding is high quality and there is daily housekeeping. The towels poolside are huge and in general there are nice towels everywhere. The l’occitane bath products are a nice touch.
Negatives: The bathrooms in the rooms need attention and there are there is an obvious need for renovation. The sinks in both bathrooms were slow to the point that they filled up if left on. The shower in the patio room was so slow that it filled up the basin in under a minute. The grout in the shower basin tiles in both rooms was almost non-existent. Our shower in the patio room had an electrical charge in the the fixtures and when we brought it up we were treated by the on-site staff like ancient-alien-spotting conspiracy theorists. The TV remotes for the TV’s in each room didn’t work and the staff fixed them but it was surprising that all three tv’s needed to have the remotes fixed/replaced with the manufacturers remotes before we...
