I was thinking 3-4 Stars here, I ended up with 3, because from my experience mediocre reviews are the ones I find useful to read and it's what I would look for. First of all: This is not meant to be a warning, I enjoyed my time there and so will you, for obvious reasons. They have guns and they let you shoot them.
But there are a few things you should know about and take into consideration, if you are not only in Vegas, but travel around like I do. THE TIME for my gamer experience was supposed to be 45 minutes. That was true, I waited like 30-35 minutes, the range itself was a 10 Minutes thing - Not much about gun safety, no explanation to the weapons, you just go out, take a loaded gun, empty the mag, get the next gun, empty the mag and so on. THE GEAR for the Game Experience is supposed to have the MP5 in it - this is an iconic weapon, isn't it?! However, the following paragraph is not so much about the gun as it is about the way, the staff deals with situations, as the MP5 was quietly replaced by a Colt 9mm SMG, that I mistook for the M4 until I realized the tiny Mag and the actual M4. When I asked about it, I was told the MP5 was out for repairs. They are supposed to have the MP5 in 3 Versions, the normal A2, A3 and the K PDW are also shown and they replace the MP5 without that and don't even ask if it's okay. At least they did the latter with the Glock 34 that I had also booked and then replaced with the M9.
A shooting range could, and some in Arizona do, take time for their customers and explain more to them and show them the guns and tricks on how to handle them better. That's what I totally missed here.
However, the weapons are, in general, great and the staff is friendly. So if you don't have the opportunity to drive outside to have a more personal touch , this will be an adventure and you will not regret it. The only thing is: it could be so much more immersive with so...
Read moreDropped off in the pouring rain far away from hotel, would not recommend.
Transportation never arrived after waiting 15 minutes after with no update. Luckily the outdoor range of MGV had a pickup in our same hotel around a later time and was nice enough to drop us off. Without that we would have been waiting even longer, other companies had no issues with pickups as we saw all the other trucks so there is no excuse.
Staff inside were friendly and the experience was good. Instructor was great.
Transportation after was awful. We get in and they need to drop someone else off first. Reasonable even though we are way closer and on the way but whatever understandable. Takes about 15 minutes and then the driver states they don't have enough time to drop us off at our hotel due to another pickup. They drop us off in the pouring RAIN about 15 minutes away from our hotel and only about 5 minutes away from MGV. Maybe if it wasn't raining it would be acceptable but If you offer transportation I would never just drop off customers that far away from there hotel in the pouring rain after having already wasted 30 minutes. We could have just got a uber/lyft from MGV and saved time and it would have cost almost the same so just poor planning from them.
Leaving customers that far away in the pouring rain after spending hundreds is unacceptable for a service that is included.
If time is valuable to you and If you don't want to be dropped off in the middle of nowhere in the rain I would not...
Read moreNo doubt about it, this was an awesome experience. The pricing mentioned in the previous comment/review was not in place when we went last week, we paid a flat fee up front when making our reservation and was charged nothing aditional.
I'll have to agree with Matt K. that the Gun Girls were attractive but weren't overly risque, just "a touch of Vegas". They also knew exactly what they were talking about when discussing the firearms, even owning several of the guns themselves which helps when trying to describe the firearms/experience to other females who have never shot a gun before, much less the variety available at MGV.
I would recommend making a reservation since it included a ride from and back to your hotel. I chose the SAS Package, my wife chose the Femme Fatal package. The final gun for the Femme Fatal package was a shotgun, which surprised me as it has more kick-back than anything I shot in the SAS package. I would recommend MGV swap in a different gun to round out that package a little better, but otherwise enjoyed every minute of the experience. I would also say to be somewhat conscious of what shirt you wear. There was some gun oil discharge that was all over our hands and forearms after shooting.
All in all, far more worth it than "donating" to any of...
