I was very reluctant to come because of the other reviews, but I was very pleasantly the surprised! There was a parking garage within a 5 minute walk. The people at the door, security, and the bartenders were all super nice. The venue itself was SO spacious despite how full the place was. The audio was great. They’ve definitely improved since the previous reviews. I brought loop earplugs which I recommend due to how loud it was. The drinks were definitely expensive (we paid around $38 for two tequila cranberries). However, you definitely get your money’s worth. For once I could actually taste the tequila and not just cranberry juice - so I was very relieved. Getting a large vizzy was probably around $16. The bathrooms were very clean and nice! They have color changing mirrors (different tones of yellow) which was fun. The crowd was SO nice! I was shocked - this is the closest I have come to PLUR in all of Utah. Much better than Sky in SLC. There are walls to lean on around the place if you get tired, where as many venues don’t allow you ANY resting spots unless you pay for a table. They have a coat check, but I didn’t bring one because I imagined it was expensive. I endured being cold on the 5 minute walk and worked out. Also, A VENUE THAT ACTUALLY USES THE AC!!!!!! Despite how many people were there, they made sure there was a reasonable temperature that kept people comfortable. It still gets warm, but way better than any indoor venue I’ve been to in Utah for EDM. Highly recommend this place. They definitely took the previous reviews seriously and made the place better.
(Side note, they did check bags to ensure safety for everyone! This is the first time I’ve experienced security folks at a venue genuinely focused on prioritizing safety, not just tyrants on a power surge lol)
Update* Can almost guarantee you the person who left the review claiming the staff does “lines all night,” probably got too drunk and was removed. I went a second time recently and the staff is consistently incredibly kind, well kept, professional, and good at their jobs. People just like to make their problems impact peoples employment for some...
Read moreSaw Dirty Heads during sundance. It was nice to see the band in PC, their performance was great! With that being said the venue was not what I expected.
The tickets are very overpriced for what it is. The “remodel” doesn’t look like much was done - it appeared like much old, undone finish work.
Not super safe - the security required a pat down of my brother do and husband, who were both dressed very nice, but they let me pass right through with a large jacket and purse without being checked whatsoever saying “you’re fine”.
The drinks were outrageous; we got 2 shots and 2 beers and our total was $74.81. The bartender never showed me an itemized bill or prices of drinks so could have been a shady move on his behalf or could have been the venue prices!
The sound system was awful. The bass and drums drowned the actual performers, it was hard to even hear them at all. The DJ they had before the headliner was a joke. Many people were booing and wanting him to get off stage. Security ended up having to escort him off.
It was so hot, minimal to no ventilation or air movement in front of the stage or within the crowd. Someone actually fell to the floor and said it was because he was so hot and got light headed.
I was super stoked to see dirty heads in PC, but the venue definitely...
Read moreI came out here back when it was Sky and saw Above and Beyond. I like it a lot better as Marquis. The music sounded great, and the vibes were all there. Park city sometimes has an attitude that comes with the money, and I didn't see that at all with the staff (I saw it in a lot of entitled dudes though).
I would come here again! Utah needs to do away with the 2am law and allow places to be open with a limited capacity after they stop serving alcohol.
They had a coat check, which is not in my income bracket, but it was the first time I ever used this service before and it was really helpful not to have to walk from my car in the 11 degrees weather.
The bartenders were super nice, even though I don't buy alcohol, and didn't look at me weird when I asked for water...I hope they appreciated the bigger tip for the kindness! The water was free, but if you've been to Vegas, they charge like 15 a bottle. Thanks Marquis for keeping people hydrated for free. It's water lol.
Thanks Marquis for hosting a great time.
Maybe think of doing a Marqiis 2 in the slc or Harriman areas, I think you'd do well!
And thanks for not being like Sky and forcing your ladies to dress slutty in order to work there. I can tell your staff feels appreciated!
Hope to...
