I planned a girls day with a couple of friends on a Saturday. We planned 11am and I had scheduled a forever jewelry appointment a week in advance. Then I talked to the studio 3 days before our appointment. The day before I received many texts messages reminding me that my appointment is now non refundable. When we arrived after driving an hour to get there from our homes, parking cost $30 and the place was in a tiny small room that we all had to shuffle around in uncomfortably. We asked to use a bathroom and they said it was down the stairs and across the street. That wasn't the worst issue. My biggest complaint is that after we arrived, the worker handed us the display of chains to choose from and proceeded to say "we only have two choices out of all of these. We ran out of inventory this week." They were completely out of the birth stones that we wanted. The worker said they only had a few choices of birth stones. It would have been nice to have been told this upon booking our appointment and/or received a message the day before that their inventory was scarce. They could have offered us a discount or to rebook. We were to choose from two options that non of us even liked and had to pay full price even though we expressed our disappointment. Every time I look at my bracelet, for what was supposed to be a fun and memorable day, I remember the negativity we all felt and I actually wish I didn't even plan this. The customer service at this Gem...
Read moreWe had an appointment at 2. We showed up exactly at 2 and we stood there waiting for directions for the first 15 minutes and then one girl comes and tell us to sign this waiver. So we do that in the process of doing that 2 other women show up and get in front of line don’t even sign the waiver and just start picking out their gems. 1 is extremely hard to know who works there because of normal clothes and they blend in with the customers they need an actual work shirt to their unorganized and they just let people come in even if you have an appointment what’s the point of having an appointment paying $10 for an appointment if someone takes your spot to do anything until 2:45 and on top of that, we did not get told how pricing works. We left disappointed with how much money we just wasted for all this unorganized time that we were there it’s a horrible spot one too. It is extremely small and they need to be more organized with...
Read moreLove all the people that work here and the experience is cool… with that said, I’m extremely disappointed with gem studios business practices when it comes to compensating employees. Despite charging outrageously high prices for their services, they refuse to pay their staff even minimum wage, expecting them to rely solely on tips to make a living.
It’s unfair and unethical for a business to profit significantly while failing to provide fair wages to the people who keep it running. Tipping should be a bonus for great service, not a necessity to survive. No one should have to depend on the generosity of customers just to earn a...
