I recently visited the Carnicería Prime location on Spencer Hwy for the first time. Compared to other locations, this one is noticeably smaller not a big deal, but the quality of the meat was disappointing. They advertise fresh looking cuts everywhere, but this location didn’t live up to that standard.
I’ve been to the one in Porter, and their meat always looks fresh and appealing and customer service is great! Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. I asked the employee helping me for prime fajita, and instead, she gave me marinated prime fajita. I immediately let her know that I had asked for plain prime fajita, and she gave me a dirty look while putting it back, clearly annoyed. I never once mentioned marinated meat.
She continued with an attitude for the rest of the interaction. Honestly, if you don’t enjoy your job, that’s understandable, but please don’t take it out on customers. Good customer service is key in a business like this, and unfortunately, it was lacking during my visit. This is going to be like another Carnicería Michoacana. Very...

Read moreWent in with high expectations only to be highly disappointed. I've been to the Porter location and the quality was WAY diffrent. I grabbed bother the Tasajo and Ranchera and when I say these cuts were off these cuts were off! First of the random way they were cut made it seem like they have very novice "carniceros"; not to mention the amount of fat that wasn't trimmed off! Both cuts had a plethora amount of nasty fat left on. And back to the cuts. Some were so thin and full of fat that didn't render with made it inedible. Well over $100 I spent to be very disappointed. Also they had ground beef on the display case that looked ancient! So old it changed colors and made the whole experience bad compared to the porter location. Owners need to get on the ball and get...
