Jilly's Gallery — Attraction in Pentwater Township

We've been coming to Jilly's Gallery for the last decade, during our annual Pentwater family vacations. We have purchased numerous pieces there during this time; each one more beautiful than the last. Jilly is an INCREDIBLY talented artist; working across a multitude of media, including hilarious and endearing fired clay figures, photographs (and custom greeting cards using her photos), drawings and paintings, wood craft sculptures (using Lake Michigan driftwood), and - most prominently - dichroic glass jewelry; all of which is handmade by her. The jewelry is just incredible - each piece absolutely unique and one-of-a-kind, and guaranteed to garner compliments whenever you wear it (as my wife has experienced numerous times, over the years). Walking into her incredible new gallery - right smack in the middle of the main strip in Pentwater - you will be gobsmacked by the massively eclectic nature of her talent; as well as the sheer quantity of works she has produced. I first discovered Jilly and her talent when she opened her shop in Pentwater. Each time we came for a visit, the highlight was spending time in her shop. Her work is spectacular and one of a kind. I've purchased ornaments and jewelry from her. My struggle was not to go overboard. For something fun to do when I was in town for a family vacation was take her glass class with my nieces. We all loved it! My biggest joy are the clay dog ornaments she custom made for me using photos I gave her. Some how she managed to capture their personality. The dogs are no longer with us but each Christmas when I hang these ornaments on the tree, they bring back fond memories of being in Pentwater on the beach. I was highly dissapointed when I was followed into stores by an aquaintence of the owner after she reportedly noticed I "was taking my hands out of my purse a lot" and couldn't find a "piece" in her store. Then I was approached further down the road by her and asked to empty my purse in front of people after being told this. I complied and dumped everything out and even explained I wouldn't ever steal. Then she proceeded to talk to the lady she had follow me and my two friends and just walk away with out even apologizing for that embarrassment or acknowledging that I was not a theif. This was my first time ever visiting Pentwater and I felt very offended and unwelcomed. I am displeased with how she handeled this situation, especially after I had just had a very nice and complimenting conversation with her in her store about...
