Last night was my first time at Liberty Point for their first Halloween party. The place was really cool and the open bar for $25 was really nice. Though I wish they had some heat lamps, as it was 40 degrees and almost unenjoyable. Unfortunately, the night started off VERY poorly due to their employees and lack of planning. Firstly, if they expected 1000+ people for the party, there should have been more than one ID checker and ticket scanner. People waited in hour+ lines and we arrived fairly early. There was only a 2 hour open bar from 8-10 and the line moved so slowly we almost did not make it to what we paid for. (Fortunately they extended this)… Secondly, the “security” as they call themselves were EXTREMELY unprofessional and unknowledgeable. My 35 year old brother in law (who lives in Thailand) was with my group and presented his passport as his form of identification (they said this was okay online) and the ONLY ID checker checked his passport for over 10 minutes, flipping between each page with suspicion and made him step out of line along with the rest of our group. The ID checker was convinced it was fake (what 35 year old would make a fake passport just to get into a bar? lol) and the other security guards were extremely rude and did not plan on letting him in. They refused to give him/my sister their money back even after grabbing their clip board to confirm their ticket purchase saying they would return the money (they did not). We tried telling the one guard my sister’s name and he was YELLING at us saying “WHAT IS HER LAST NAME” as we repeated it to him and spelled it for him MULTIPLE times but he was clearly illiterate and being a jerk. Unfortunately my sister and her fiancé had to leave after waiting in the freezing cold for over an hour and after presenting legitimate identification. We also saw security guards on top of a man laying on the ground and he yelled that they were on his neck and he couldn’t breathe. Do better. Most likely will not be returning if people are being...
Read moreI would’ve given this place at a 2 out of 5 stars for the hostess who looked miserable and for the awkward fight these two waitresses had behind our table. The hostess issue would not normally steer me the wrong way (I understand having a bad day and not being able to put on a smile here and there) but when she walked us to our table she didn’t even look at us or tell us to enjoy ourself and she slapped down the menus on the table as if she was annoyed and walked away with out saying anything.
However, our saving grace that night was our waitress Alison A. She not only greeted us with a cheerful smile but she was so patient and accommodating with my group. We had three toddlers running around and trust me I get it, It’s not anyone’s favorite group at a restaurant ever. Alison didn’t complain, she did not look at all annoyed and every single time she came by she did so with a smile. She was so great with all our questions and answered them with out hesitation.
The one thing she did that really knocked it out of the park: she went out of her way to find my husband who was running around with my son and handed him his drink. She didn’t just set it on the table and walk away. I know that it’s a small gesture but to me it meant a lot. The fact that she took a few seconds to walk around and find him to ensure he got his order is not something we normally experience at a restaurant/bar ,and to top it off, it was a busy night, and she still took her time to do that.
The food was ok, typical bar food. However the kids Mac and cheese and the Brussel sprouts were amazing!
I hope this review gets back to Alison A because she deserves to know that she did an amazing job. It’s never easy for parents to go eat out in public, I promise you we know we get the eye stares and the judgement, so having someone like Alison really helped us feel comfortable and welcomed. She’s the reason for...
Read moreToday being a holiday (memorial) it’s was a nice crowd, we were seated quickly considering we didn’t have a reservation. I was with my mom and my son. We came straight to this spot just to have lunch and head home. We ordered 5 things off the menu to try. I’m the only one who got a cocktail drink from bar which was pretty good. We were waiting an awfully long time for food. Ladies behind us had been seated before we came upstairs and from the conversation, they had been waiting still a good while for food. When food came I was very disappointed in my mom’s peel and eat shrimp, very small and when she bit into them they were mushy and warm. The crab cake she requested no aioli sauce, but there was sauce on it, her sandwich was very messy and falling apart. I loved the pretzels but the crab dip was a disappointment, no real flavor in comparison to other crab dips I have had. We did enjoy the pretzels that came with it. We left after finishing what we could of our food. My mom was not feeling well and shortly after experienced diarrhea 5x since being back home. She ate the shrimp and half of her sandwich and had 2 light beers. My son and I were fine. As of today, 5/31 my mother’s card was charged 2 times for $108 and 1 time for $113. The stupid girl should’ve notified someone if she was having an issue on her end. It’s bad enough that they asked us to hold on to our card prior to even ordering, which I never heard of before. Diners beware, they don’t even have a live person to speak with or accept any messages. You have to email only. A phone call was deserved after such a major discrepancy but all she received was an email with an excuse. Let’s just say Liberty Point will do well, because tourists will always be there. Save your hard earned money, your patience...
