It was pretty but simply not the right shaft-flex. Intended to return it forthwith but a family matter prevented a timely attempt. Still, I thought there might be a chance for a refund or store credit, you know, that “goodwill towards the customer” stuff (a) so the customer will come back and see us and/or (b) tell others to come see us. Anywho I went in today to find out. The big guy told me flat out “no way’. Said he’d get in trouble with the owner if he “did something stupid” like that. “Something stupid” like working with a customer to arrive at a somewhat reasonable and amicable resolution? He then said that he could offer a store credit at a steep discount. How much of a credit? $10 freaking dollars. Was insulted and moved to laughter at the same time. Couldn’t offer at least half aye? I know I was outside the 30-day return window but we’re talking about a USED club NOT a carton of eggs. I bought it for $50 dollars, hit it some 20 times, and dude offers to buy it back for a lousy $10, as if it’d break the business and end his career if he’d offered something reasonable I’m currently exploring getting fittings for a new set; and please guess who won’t be exploring this with me? Taking the low-road with a customer is not cool. Caveat emptor. Take care folks because you’re not getting any portion of your money back if something doesn’t suit, and I’m not making this up, -- it’s their...
Went to Greater Golf yesterday wanting to buy a new set of irons. I haven't really played much over the last several years but wanted to get back into it.
First impression of the store was that it was packed with product! They have everything including a large selection of new and used clubs. I wandered for maybe a minute and Fred, the owner, introduced himself, made me feel at home. He asked me a couple of questions got me set up with Dixon the golf pro. Dixon was awesome, very patience...watched my swings and tested out several different clubs in my price point until I had one that was perfect. Dixon had to adjust the lengths and the loft so I figured it would be a week or so and I could go back and pick them up. Left the store extremely happy with the experience.
At 7:00, Fred (remember the owner)...called me...that's right called me...and thanked me for my business and told me Dixon had busted his tail and got my clubs ready that day! I am so impressed with Fred and his staff, don't go anywhere else...these guys are awesome and you won't be...
Read moreCame here a couple of years ago and loved it. It’s a great store with a lot of product. Not real crazy about the staff. My son came up here all the way from Columbia with a pocketful of cash to buy new clubs. Took two hits in the makeshift hitting bay and toed one off. Salesperson shut him down. He will buys his clubs at a different place now. Understand the persons concern, but that was a little harsh. Not only did the mishit embarrass my son, but being reprimanded by the staff just increased it. Not everyone is a professional golfer, and your store is great for us hackers. Make it more safe and user friendly and these problems won’t happen. I own a small business and my help, or me, wouldn’t ever think about treating a...
