I’ve been walking my 3 1/2 year-old granddaughter there from our condo for about a year now. 90% of the time we have a great time. I’m a hands-on grandmother if I take her out to play, I play with her. The problem with the green area at plantation walk is the parents think it’s a playground so they sit around on the outskirts having drinks and cocktails with their friends, letting their children between five and eight run wild with no supervision.! I got hit in the face with a soccer ball about four months ago. So they put up no ball playing it hardly works. Tonight I got hit in the back of the neck with a 1 L full bottle of water that a seven-year-old was throwing up in the air. When I found the parents, they said that I shouldn’t be in the middle of the green. that’s where the children play. I explained to her I come there every night it’s not a playground and if you bring your child to play somewhere, you should be with them playing not drinking alcohol at a restaurant. If you wanna drink with your child, do it at home. The parents that come to this convenient place probably don’t even live in the area, and I do so it’s my neighborhood. I am asking the owners to put up signs saying every child must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a playground.!! Small handheld toys like cars, dolls, fidgets balloons bubbles are reasonable toys to bring. But scooters right on cars ball play, soccer playing should be completely prohibited from this area. It is dangerous because like I said in the past two months I’ve been hit twice with Objects lodged at me by a child with no parent. And both the children I would say we’re under eight years old. if you’re eight year-old is not within 5 feet of you in this environment you’re not being a responsible parent. Like I said before this is not a playground. There are plenty of playgrounds in the plantation area. Very close by plantation walk take your child there for soccer riding his bike or scooter and throwing...
Read moreThis mixed use space opened in 1988. There was an office tower, hotel, mall, and parking decks. Due to stores closing and hurricane damage, the place eventually closed. Until 2007, plans for redevelopment proceeded. The goal was to make it a mixed use lifestyle destination; there would be offices, retail, residential, dining, and entertainment. The goal is for the residents to be able to live, work, and play in one spot.
I enjoyed visiting and exploring. It's pedestrian friendly with wide sidewalks. There are plenty of events and live music; check their website for updates. My family and I have walked around the area and dined there. I recommend Tacocraft and Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream. There were other places I plan to check out next time I visit, Ford6s Garage, Rock and Brews, to name a couple. Overall, a nice spot for lifestyle,...
Read morePlantation Walk is a fantastic, clean, and well-organized spot that’s perfect for families. It features great local shops, clean public restrooms, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights is Un Attimo Specialty Coffee — offering excellent service and top-quality products. There’s also a delicious gelato shop and Now Massage, which is amazing! Definitely worth visiting with the whole family. If I had one suggestion, it would be to make better use of the open space with more frequent events and curated music. Other than that, everything is...
