I had an appointment with Karen on 1/15/22 for a full set/pink and white. Went in and Karen proceeded to give me a dip instead. I stopped her when she started with the first nail and said, "a dip will not work for me because the nails will break." And since I've had the same hands all of my life, this was pretty solid information. However, Karen continued and assured me that she would do a great job and the nails would not break. Against my better judgement, I gave her a chance and let her finish the job. However, the following week beginning that Thursday, as suspected, the nails started to break off. By Saturday, three had already broken off. When the first nail broke, initially, I was going to get it repaired but after the third, a do-over was necessary. So I called and explained the situation to the lady over the phone (I kick myself for not writing down her name). However, she assured me that I wouldn't have to pay for another full set (only a refill) and my pedicure which I scheduled outside of getting the problem corrected. The conversation was pleasant and the appointment was scheduled.
I went in the following Saturday (today 1/29/22). Nick, was my technician. I even saw Karen in there. She came over and checked on me (which was nice). I think she was checking to make sure the problem would be corrected. I should mention that they had to change my technician from Karen to Nick (upon my return) because Karen does not know how to do a pink and white (hmm, wish I would have had this information two weeks ago). In any case, I did appreciate her checking on me. Now, back to the story...
Nick did my nails and they were fine. However, when it came time to pay, I was overcharged. Initially, I was going to go ahead and pay because this time I was happy with my nails, but because the receptionist kept saying to me, "you should have reminded me earlier that you were not supposed to pay for a full set" when I explained to her what had previously happened, I decided I was going to stick to the plan and pay the agreed upon price. She wouldn't tell me what her name was when I told her I was going to write this review so as promised, I will describe her. She is a young girl (possibly early twenties) of Asian descent with blonde hair with black roots.
"Young lady, you do not treat customers as if it is their responsibility to assist you in effectively doing your job. It was not my place to remind you of anything before or after"--not sure what difference that would have made. "As I repeatedly attempted to explain to you, it was the responsibility of the person (at your establishment) who made the appointment to notate this information somewhere." That being said, I dread having to spend the majority of my day off going from salon to salon having to touch myself up. I stopped by Tipsy Salon Bar in Plantation because I needed to get so many things done, and the convenience of having it all in one place highly intrigued me. I booked an appointment to get my hair done, get a manipedi, get my lashes done, and get my brows waxed. The customer service there was absolutely just incredible from start to finish. Everyone was very kind and professional with their work. I forgot the name of the guy who did my nails but he has blue hair and I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he did it identical to how I asked. Not a single complaint…. Now for my hair, I am always scared of people touching my hair, I’ve been through damage, breakage, and people cutting off more than necessary. I got LACINDA as my stylist and I believe it was fate. When you show her a picture and tell her what you want, she will deliver EXACTLY THAT. I asked for a foxy cut, which I was very scared to do, especially since it was a different stylist than usual, and I was also nervous since I wasn’t sure the cut would even look good on me. But I have desperately wanted that cut so I decided to be bold. I swear she copy and pasted exactly what I wanted, not only was the cut so amazing it nearly made me cry, but it fit my face so nicely. She also touched up my black and made sure my hair was shiny and beautiful. I am 22 years old and am very judgmental when it comes to my hair. Read moreNo hate at all to my nail tech Clarissa she was super nice and made me feel very comfortable. But I was cut to where a piece of my cuticle was removed, I also had leftover nail polish from my old nail set. That I didn’t notice till I woke up since it was dark outside when I left the salon. when I called back the manger ashley told me she would have to contact the owner then she would get back to me to which she never did. They also charged me for a full set when i only had 4 nails filed down she never removed the old tips I previously had so I was confused why I was charged for a full set but I figured it wasn’t worth the argument. The manger tried to tell me it was the nail artist fault and not the salon so she wouldn’t give me my money back. The ppl are nice but when you come make sure you double check the price and your nails before leaving
Response to the owner: When I called I was told I was going to get a call back regarding my refund but was never called back. I declined the offer to get my nail fixed because I was scared I was going to get cut again and the nails were beyond fixing I just wanted my refund. Like i stated in my review I didn’t see the complications with the nail set till the next day since it was dark and I was tired. My nail now has a ugly mark on it I would love to speak to the owner about my refund if you could call me back instead of making a response that would be amazing. In regards to the guest estimate I was told that price if I did a full set only 4 of my nails got “removed” .
