It seems like Michaels always has some kind of deal going on (woohoo!). I'm not a fan of the store's layout - it always seems cluttered and the cash wrap is counterintuitive. However, there has always been helpful staff to help navigate through the chaos.
I'm also not impressed with the selection of merchandise. There have been times that I've looked for specific items only to be told that "we don't carry that here". However, I know that the chain carries them, but they just wasn't fulfilled at this particular store. My latest search has been for the MAMBI Happy Planner add-ons. Luckily, I was able to find them online and the discounts were abundant (yay!).
Update 07.07.16 Buyer beware. The last couple of times I've been here, there have been signs on the floor that haven't been honored at the cash register. One time it happened I had to show the cashier. She went to one aisle and I another location. There are two places for the Happy Planner products (confusing). I showed her the discount sign and she honored the sign. This last time I didn't catch the discrepancy until I was out of the store. I still came out ahead so I wasn't going to squabble over the difference.
Did you know that currently Michaels accepts competitors coupons? I've never not known Hobby Lobby to offer a 40% off coupon. It works!!! Look online on your mobile device or print ahead of time. I've done this a couple of times since I've found out about this...
Read moreThose reviews, showing have to be from years ago. The store used to be packed and busy all the time. I have been in there a couple times the past 2 years. Bought nothing. Store barely had anyone in it. They have changed merchandise. Used to have the best selection of baskets and stickers. They have neither now. Was in store today bought 4 items worth 7$. After standing inline trying to figure out where to check out. Reading the self serve options which is all they have now. Credit ,debit only !! 5 clerks standing around. Finally I asked what if you're paying cash. Pointed to one self serve for cash. Which I was told would be going away. Scanner didn't work. I was obviously having trouble. Not one clerk stepped forward another customer stepped forward and tried to help ? I pushed the. "Assistance" button. Someone came forward finally. Bottom line ,I don't use my credit card if I have cash and am only spending a few $!!! To force your customers to use credit - debit. Ridiculous. I will not shop there again. Read moreThis store has quite a bit of variety in it, my disappointment is that they don't keep up with the latest jewelry trends and I have to wait months sometimes a year for them to start carrying things that are popular now. I want to make Christmas jewelry before Christmas that goes for every holiday. When they do get some popular stuff in its gone in a flash. Who does the ordering anyway they don't even carry real gemstones anymore just glass stones now. Last year at this time they had some red and green stones, all glass of course but now they don't gave any all. There are also people in our area that wear bigger size clothes than what you carry. That's being a bit discriminatory in my opinion I can't even find the t-shirts to use to paint or to embroidery on come on... Really? But let's put my experience aside they have a good variety of things just not as good as hobby lobby in our area. Nothing beats their pricing or variety at hobby lobby....
