The last Fire Bell Tower in the United States. You can see it from town up the hill. It is behind the Palace Hotel, but you cannot get to it from the stairs there. I took the stairs behind the Haller statue and fountain shown here then took a left. You walk through a residential area. The bell was rung when there was a fire in town. You cannot go inside or upstairs, but there is a nice view of Port Townsend from the hill where it is. There are a few parking spaces. If you are walking or driving past, you may also want to stop at the Pane d'Amour bakery that is a few blocks away and is open 7 am - 7 pm. Closed Mondays. I was on my way there and accidentally found the Fire Bell Tower.

Small scenic pull out. Great views of the city and water. We didn't get to go up in the tower. Not alot of parking. Just nice little stop while perusing the historic homes in the area. So much history in this area. Recommend reading Wikipedia or other source on port Townsend before visiting. I was surprised by the history.

Beautiful views and if you time it right the birds sing and make beautiful music for you.. Always a favorite stop of mine when in town... Gorgeous Views.. Relaxing to watch the boats sailing. Refreshing ocean breeze. The last time I was here I got to share the view with my love kip.

The Historic Fire Bell Tower in Port Townsend is a charming landmark that offers a glimpse into the town’s rich history. Located at 319 Tyler Street, this iconic structure is a must-visit for anyone exploring the area. One of the highlights of the Fire Bell Tower is its historical significance. Built in 1890, the tower was originally used to alert the town’s residents in case of a fire. Although you can’t go inside or climb the tower, the structure itself is well-preserved and offers a unique photo opportunity. There are also a few parking spaces nearby, making it easily accessible for visitors. Visitors often mention the charming atmosphere of the area around the tower. It’s close to several other attractions, including the Pane d’Amour bakery, which is just a few blocks away and offers delicious treats. This 75 foot, 1890 Bell Tower is a remarkable landmark in Port Townsend. The last wooden fire tower remaining in the U.S.; located upstairs from the Haller Fountain. Provides serene and stunning water views and historical, architecturally beautiful structures of this charming city. Located in a beautiful residential...
