There is no designated parking for this hotel, but it wasn't difficult to find a spot on the street.  The hotel maintains the antique character that the waterfront area is known for.  Therefore, it is not handicap accessible at all.  It has lots of stairs and a slight lean towards the drop-off on the uppermost flight due to age. The room was sparsely decorated on a low cost budget, which created a "tired" look. The only microwave available for guest use in the hotel was in a communal ice machine room on the second floor and there are no refrigerators for guests (we were told to store any leftovers in our car). Our room also lacked a "Do Not Disturb" sign to be able to use. The bed was uncomfortable enough to cause fitful, trouble sleeping for both of us, and it had pillows stained by age.  To successfully use the room heater required flipping a switch in a separate location from the thermostat controls. The surge protector electrical power strip for guest use in the room had a loose connection that drained cellphones plugged into it instead of charging them.  The bathroom sink was my least favorite room aspect, with a huge, open drain hole eagerly waiting to swallow anything dropped and no soap dish for the tiny piece of soap. The front desk staff was kind but the cleaning staff very rudely gossiped loudly outside of the rooms about their opinions of guests. We were also verbally hurried by the cleaning staff to checkout at 10:50.  My boyfriend would rate our experience only 1 star and said he would never want to stay here again, but I'm giving it 3 because it was the lowest cost hotel room in all of PT when planning our trip. Lower in cost even than the "budget" hotels near Safeway!  The location is convenient for tourists, it has good views (including of the water), and the chocolate shop located next door is a nice treat.

I am very pleased! Mary, the hotel manager I believe, was kind and helpful. My room was the Mini Suite 2 and I LOVED IT! The bed was clean, comfortable, and warm, four large pillows. No smoke smells or unusual scents. The room was charming, with original exposed brick for one wall. Having snapped up the very last available room my expectations were low but my room was spacious, clean, warm, had two windows with lots of natural light and blackout curtains, a private full bathroom, a closet, a mini fridge and small coffee station, and was SO QUIET at night! Lots of people were in town and many hotels and businesses were hosting Halloween parties (we were in town to attend the incredible Halloween party at Manresa Castle). I didn’t hear a sound all night after I got back (around 12:30am). The mini suite 2 is located at the back of the hotel which felt private. This also meant that my window had a view of beautiful Port Townsend Bay and the nearby boardwalk. The hotel is surrounded by ample street parking, I did not have trouble finding a place to park. In fact, the hotel is right next to the old clam cannery building (very pretty) where there is a little turn around for vehicles and I was able to park there—only 50 feet from the mezzanine’s entrance. I was able to shop up and down Water St. and drop my goods off as I went along. I highly recommend this hotel. I'm only adding photos of the exterior because the hotels photos of the room are very accurate, nothing was different—in fact it feels bigger in person than their photos imply.

Really quaint old building (1880s?) obviously modified to comply with current safety and provide some modern amenities (not many though). Great downtown, waterfront location, right in the middle of all the action. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops, activities within walking distance. Beautiful views, especially facing the water. The bed was very comfortable and everything seem very clean. Now the downsides: The building and fixtures are in need of some basic, routine maintenance. It makes it lose some of the charm if you cannot get the access door open with your key or the walls have gashes and there is peeling caulk that needs replacing. The carpeting looks really old too. Which does not make you want to put your bare feet on it. If you are on the street side, the noise levels can be bad. It did not bother me at night but there is a very good and popular bar across the street from the front of the hotel that can get noisy. What bothered me was the 6:30am shouting by some crazy homeless guy and then some kind of demonstration with singing right outside my window. Isn't that illegal? I had a room without a bathroom (down the hall) and the key access was a real pain at the wee (pun intended) hours of the night. This may not be an issue for someone who can get through the night without having to pee, but I found it frustrating. The room (#14) was really cute otherwise and faced the water. Definitely not a family or disabled friendly place but a lot of fun!

We arrived in Port Townsend in the late afternoon. We walked around town and saw this hotel that looked interesting. The desk clerk on duty was very friendly. We decided to stay here and asked for a water view. The price of the room was a little high but since it was downtown we said OK. We registered and the clerk gave us our room keys. We walked through the door and wandered all over the establishment, wecould not find our room. We went back to the front desk and asked where our room was. The clerk did not know!! She had to call the manager who told me. The clerk told me this was the first time alone at the desk. ||It was a nice big room with a comfortable bed, and nice chair and table/chairs. It had WI-FI. There was a heating/cooling unit on the wall but the remote did not work. ||That evening, I found out that we needed to shorten this trip. I went to the front desk to see if I could cancel the second night. The front desk was closed. There is a staff person in residence in the room next to ours. We were walking to check out the fire escape and walked past their apartment and the door was open. They said they could not make a determination and I needed to talk with the manager when he gets in the following morning. I also told them that about the heater remote not working. ||The front desk does not open till 10 am on weekdays. Checkout is by 11 am. I went in to talk to the manager who had stepped out. I left my phone number and he called me. I went back and told him my story that I needed to checkout early. He said there are no refunds and he would charge me for the second night. I suggested that since we were walk-ins, we really did not cancel our reservation, we were additional income at least for one night. He reiterated that he would charge me for the second night. I also told him about the remote control. He wrote it down.||I went to the front desk at 10:20 am on checkout day to turn in the keys and the front door was locked with a sign stating they would be back in 10 minutes. The front desk opens at 10 am and they need to close it for 10 minutes 20 minutes later? I knocked on the door and the resident staff person open the door. They were nice but were not happy after they asked me about our stay?||The remote was never fixed.||I feel the price was excessive given customer service and amenities. They are a few better choices...

me and my 3 sisters stayed here for the presidents day weekend. great little town and the location of the hotel was perfect. however we will not stay here again. first of all when you enter the hotel off the street it is not even a lobby, it is a little area filled with native American items it was a store i guess, but definitely not a real hotel lobby and not inviting at all. No where to put your stuff or even sit a minute. we were in the "suite" in the back. it does have great water views but the back of the building was in need of a face lift and at night it is pitch black back. there did seem to be a small light but did not always come on. there is no designated place to park. you have to just park anywhere you can find. one night when we came back we circled 10 minutes and no spots were available. room was ok lots of space but the curtains were so dusty and dirty about 1/2 way up. it was a really tall window and up on the high ceiling was many many dark cob webs on both sides. the bathroom was ridiculous. shower and toilet but they had a pedestal sink. absolutely no counter to put anything at all and no other shelf or cabinet to put something on. kind of odd for a suite and there was room to have a counter. there was no other counter in the main room either. did have micro and mini fridge, table and chair but again everything had to be put on the table as it was the only surface in the entire room. the dresser and loveseat were very old and dinghy. only run by 1 women we asked about getting ice and when she took us upstairs there was non and we were told to go to Safeway! the ice machine was not even on. we got paper cups for the mini coffee pot. our room was more like a motel as you can not enter the hotel from this room. were told the front area closes at 6pm and doesn't open till 10am. so you couldn't get ice, coffee, towels or anything between those times. It really looks like they just slammed this room together with very minimal old used items to get it rented out. We are not even picky people but this is no way to run a business. no thing special about it at all. any being told to go buy your own ice was not very professional. but we will never stay here again after this stay. very...
