I've now put 10 miles on my new running shoes since visiting Fleet Feet and my only regret is that I didn't stop in sooner. Going to Fleet Feet for a personal shoe fitting was better than satisfactory. I actively LIKED it!
I'm a mountain biker, but a few months ago I started running regularly as an alternative when I couldn't bike as much (such as the winter). Now, I'm running regularly: 5 days per week.
If you're an avid runner, then you know that dedicated running shoes make an enormous difference. My best friend nudged me to just go into a store and do the feet analysis thing. He has gone a few times to another well-known running store, but I've walked past Fleet Feet 100 times since my office was in the same neighborhood. So I made an appointment.
Camille greeted me for the appointment right away, and it was quick and easy to do the foot scanning and gait analysis. I don't know anything, so it was really up to her to help me make a good decision. I was trying on shoes that she identified to be a match based on the analysis. She was able to answer questions I had and provide personal insights from her running experience.
I've now had two running days in my new shoes. Yesterday was a 3-mile run and I noted that it felt easier than normal. But this morning was a 7-mile run and it was crystal clear how much better these shoes are. Normally after a longer run I would be feeling a lot of wear on my feet. But it was dramatically reduced today, and for certain it's because of having shoes that are running specific and well-suited for my foot shape and size and my gait.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how my training improves over the coming months, and this is all thanks to Fleet Feet and the tremendous expertise of Camille....
Read moreBeen bouncing back and forth between fleet feet and roadrunner for years. Always liked the vibe at fleet feet. I doubt I’ll be back to fleet feet. Without belaboring the narrative, another customer and I were in the store at the same time. Both were interested in getting shoes and were close to a sale. There were 4 employees in the store. 3 were having a meeting in full view at 4:45 pm. The other was sweating out the two on one. Then the phone rang and the one free employee disappeared on the phone for 20 minutes. Most of the time he was interrupting the “meeting “ for guidance. At one point I pointed out that since he was interrupting the meeting they might as well take the phone and let him attend to the customers. Not a very professional response and no apology. I was happy, feeling relaxed until this pointas it was a beautiful day. Our salesman then disappeared behind the desk and continued his phone call. At this point the other very reasonable customer and I had been in the store for over an hour for a task that usually takes me 20 minutes. Unable to get further responses, we felt abandoned and left. Other downsides at this store are a distinctly smaller shoe inventory and a lack of accessories. Roadrunners is much better here. Drive to roadrunners, was in and out in 15 minutes, better fitting shoes, insole and joggers in tow. This is my first review of any kind in...
Read moreI wanted to take the time to leave a review about the great experience I had here at Fleet Feet.
I went to PRC a few days before and had a terrible experience there and ended up bringing back the shoes I bought because when I got home I found a dead leaf, dirty bottoms and a warped side of the shoe, it appears I got a return instead of a new shoe, the customer service overall was a poor experience and I didn't get treated very well.
Fleet Feet was the complete opposite, from the time I walked in I felt very welcome. Anika the sales person helped me right away, asked me what I was looking for, what I've done in the past and what I am trying to accomplish.
She watched me walk and scanned my feet. She brought out several shoes and explained all the options as well as the difference between the shoes she's suggested and others on the shelf. There was no pressure of sales tactics. They generally seemed to care I got good shoes.
I ended up with Brooks Adrenaline. Took them with me to the gym today and so far so good. I'll want to try them over the course of a week or two before I give a final verdict but they seem to be a good fit and her advice was spot on.
If you are new to running or at least running with more expensive shoes I recommend coming here. Great service and their prices were the same as Amazon or Zappos. In fact I got mine $20 less then both those...
