Mississippi Nails and Spa — Attraction in Portland

Update**UPDATED REVIEW: 😕☹ Changing my review I went back for a dip and pedi and the dip manicure turned out horrible it started pealing and chipping the next day. It's been 2 days and this is what they look like the picture with red and black. Also felt an uncomfortable energy in there.

I decided to try this place on a whim, glad I did because it's my new go to! They are customer service oriented no trying to talk you into what thy want you to do (or what's easier for them). You don't feel uncomfortable that you are being talked about because they are not talking to everyone but you in their language and making you feel some type of way. It's just a classy and professional and they offer a beverage as well free with your pedicure. I have been getting my pedicures done here for 3 years and I am always pleased. My number one concern is sanitary practices which is what attracted me to Mississippi Nails. They sterilize all of their tools in a machine and take them out of a sealed sterile pack right in front of you. They also clean the bowl after each client AND use bowl liners. And finally, for a very small fee ($1 or so), you purchase your own files and toe separators that you can bring back with you each time. I drive all the way from Camas, WA to get my nails done here and I even trust them with my 12 year old daughter’s nails.

The bonus is that all of the nail techs do an excellent job too! My gel pedicures are always perfectly smooth and even and last for at least a month. Made an appointment for my three year old and I to get manicures and pedicures. I chose this established because of the Yelp and they seem to cater to young kiddos. When we got to the spa it was very busy, I checked in for our reservation and assumed I would be sitting next to my daughter...I work a ton and wanted this to be some Mommy & daughter time...plus my daughter is three, she has a very short attention, and I wanted to chat with her to keep her busy. She was sat three chairs away from me. I was bummed. I asked how next time I could make an appointment in which I could sit next to my daughter. No answer. I explained why. No answer. I gave up.
