Moda Center, Part 1 Grat•i•tude The state of being grateful: thankfulness
Well if that is what gratitude means, then THANKFULNESS is surely required. I mean, how could that not be your immediate and uncontrollable reaction after being the guest of @corradiniphoto for a Portland Trail Blazers game when you’ve been treated to seats on the floor?
Where does one even begin to express such gratitude? I suppose you could begin by describing the exhilaration of passing through the very same tunnel that the players did just seconds after they strode onto the court pregame. I think I could have floated home after just that singular moment! 🤯
But wait, there’s more…after that an actual NBA game broke out with portions of our “team” front and center there to witness the entire ballet.
Yes, you heard me correctly. The fast-twitch muscle fiber symphony of movement of the players seemed to equal so much of the grace and discipline found on an entirely different “stage.” And amidst so many other distinctions, while I may not be considered “short” at 5’10”, I definitely felt “height challenged” as I compared my stature to the behemoths roaming the floor during this contest.
The constant sneaker squeaks (created by great footwork), the private player conversations with the refs (👂), the overall physicality of the game (💪), and our visit with Bigfoot (👣) the mascot made being so close to the action super exciting!
To make this experience even better, @dbrow7 hooked us up with some serious kicks (Air Jordan 7 Cardinal) that were the perfect compliment, especially for an event so near Nike Headquarters.
An amazing evening provided by family and friends!
And that’s…Henry’s...
Read moreCould be a small novel, since I like to be thorough. Had gone to see The Dropkick Murphy's on 17Feb & have to admit that I'm late to post.
Will be honest: This was my 1st time seeing them & I have to tell myself: "What took so long?", because they put on an AWESOME show! Lots of energy! Great vocals! Told my buddy that if Casey had a pedometer on him, he would have surpassed his "10k steps" after 2 songs! That guy was all over the place! Very cool how he interacts with the crowd esp putting the mic into the crowd for the fan interaction! At one point he threw the mic into the pit, lucky fan sang a snip-it & tossed it back to him! And Mr Casey was very appreciative of everyone, even thanking Security a few times!
Another cool thing about this band: Every musician sang!
As for the 2 other openers:
The Scratch, from Dublin, was very good & lots of energy! In my 30+ years of attending concerts, I have never seen a drummer play with just a bass drum & drum machine using mallets!
Pennywise: wasn't really a fan but watched nonetheless.
As for my 4/5 stars: Only thing that bugged me about Dropkick was they must not have anticipated a popular concert T selling out so fast, because the merch lines were wicked long when I arrived, but I didn't want to miss The Scratch. After that set, I went to Merch Booth to find out the black T with the skull wearing the riders cap was out of stock in L & XL! Totally bummed! Hope they'll eventually end up on their website to purchase.
As for the Moda Center: Scanning tickets seem to be getting better, lines went fast, merch lines were long [but that's always expected], beverage/food lines were normal as well. It was a Theater Of The Clouds event & seat location Sec 103/Row L...
Read moreVisited Moda Center in Portland, Oregon to see Stevie Nicks in concert on October 1st, 2025 with my daughter and her best friend. It's an amazing place! Got the prepaid parking online for the Garden Garage which is attached to Moda Center. Had to go down to the 1st level of parking garage in the elevator and ask where we entered the Main gates, which was the North Entrance and had to go outside to get in line to enter. ADA admitted folks and premier booths get to stay inside and enter without going outside on the P3 level for ADA and P2 level for premier booths. It wasn't a long wait to get in, (glad it wasn't raining!) you can bring a small, foldable personal umbrella with you if needed but have to have your bags searched and go through the metal detectors! We only waited about 15 minutes. Once, inside, there's different floor levels with different kinds of food and beverages, merchandise for the concert, also public restrooms and water fountains. Got our food and drinks and found our seats by asking directions of the staff near the section entrances. Section C317, Row H, Seats 1, 2 & 3 were way high up, but had a pretty good view of the stage! Only thing is they need is a few more cup holders for drinks ,(had 3 seats together but only 2 cup holders on the arm rests in our area), and a flip down shelf in front of you on the back of the seats to put food on! We just used our laps! You can put your bag, food, drinks, under your seat or just hold them. Had a great time there seeing our all time favorite, Stevie Nicks! Just be patient with the traffic, as it's incredibly busy for everyone to...
