My body is covered in bed bug bites as a result in staying at this hotel. I've stayed here before multiple times when this was a chain hotel and I hadn't had prior issues, but it is now independent and the quality seems to have deteriorated. I reported this issue to the Multnomah County Health Department, and other people experiencing the same issue should do so as well.
I woke up to having itchy welts on my body with rashes and swelling around those locations. Upon pulling back the fitted sheet and inspecting the bed, I found a mattress with severely damaged seams and three live bed bugs. I have at least fifteen bites all over my body, so I suspect that there are more bed bugs hiding in and around the bed that aren't visible.
The staff were nice, apologized, and gave a refund for the stay on my request, but it seemed to me from the conversation that this was a known issue with the hotel.
It's 36 hours later and I still have itchy welts, with rashes and swelling finally starting to subside. Thankfully I used the luggage rack to hold my backpack which reduces the risk that bed bugs entered it.
In addition, there was a problem where the plumbing was clogged, causing the adjacent room's shower to have sewage back up into...
Read moreOkay, here's the things that actually matter. My experience was of a bug free room with a good mattress that was overall a bit old but totally clean. I wore my flip flops to shower but that probably was not necessary as the bathroom looked to be updated regularly in fixtures. I just had them with me.
They are not rude in my experience. They can maybe come off as gruff to some but they were really nice to me both times despite the fact I was being quite rude by talking on the phone as I was checking in. (Sorry about that)
They watched my luggage while I did some sightseeing too. Good people.
I did see a lady screaming at them when I came in at about 10:30pm about something "not being on the site at all" so please pay attention:
There is a $50 hold which came off my kind of card right after checkout this morning, and if you want to park spitting distance from the stadium you're going to pay. Parking a vehicle is $10 for a guest. If that surprises you it's because you're either stupid or don't travel much. Do not scream at the...
Read moreLocals said we could find a “lady of the night” here. Sadly, we did not. But free Galaxy gas in one of our rooms, and a free bra under the bed. We didn’t even have to request them. Bring your own microwave! Office chair had a suspicious white stain that tasted like frosting, yum? Quaint bathroom with all the amenities including a broken countertop. Vending machine had a great selection of drinkable items, for only $7 you could drown your sorrows in a can of Monster Energy. Plenty of local wildlife by the dumpster. The design was exquisite, the patio was turfed with putting green, brings me back to my PGA days. Transit station very close by, see if you can find some hair gel, i did! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. They had so much treasure. Reminded me of my days as a pirate. Centrally located by the very jump-off-able Broadway Bridge. We were...
