The Rose Quarter — Attraction in Portland

I am frustrated and disappointed that I had to spend ~$140 for the 2022 Floral Parade tickets, just to find out I can't reach the venue. I have broken leg which prevents me from walking long distances. Every street around the venue was blocked off, even for dropping passengers off (and there was no information about closures provided with the tickets), customer support couldn't provide information about any close by parking areas (I am not local to Portland) so I spent 1hr trying to find one, obviously missing the show. And ultimately I wasn't able to get a refund from them - apparently I had to do that during the event via phone (called during the show and no one in the office), or had to get to the box office for that, which again was not possible due to all of the above. Until today, I'd had good experiences at the Moda Center during games, concerts, and other events. Today there's a winter advisory, the wind chill is making it feel like -1, and people have been told to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel. But for some reason, the Amy Poehler and Tina Fey show is still scheduled to go on. Clearly the people making this decision don't have the safety of their employees or patrons in mind. I'm disappointed in the lack of good judgement and common sense displayed today, and I will definitely think twice before attending events at the Moda Center from now on. We had several interactions with staff at a recent Blazer game, and everyone was incredibly nice! It started at Security when I had to go through screening three times because of things in my pockets. They patiently asked me to try again and when I apologized, they said,”No problem.” I had to leave my umbrella at the door in a bin. The ushers were friendly and helpful when finding our seats.Every time we asked for directions, staff was so accommodating. When time to get umbrella, we had exited and couldn’t re-enter, but they kindly sent someone to get it. Every person we encountered seemed happy to be there, willing to help in a kindly manner.
