Maintenance is amazing! I've had several things wrong between the two units I've lived in, but they are so prompt in getting them fixed it's like they never happened. Location is amazing (a book store right downstairs? Yes, please!) but it can get extremely annoying during high traffic times like holidays because it's North Hills. Pool is nice. Front office staff seems pleasant. The person I rented with no longer works there but everyone else has been helpful. I transferred units to save money on rent and they were helpful during the process. I cannot speak to renewal and the rent increase if any yet, as I haven't gone through it, but will update when I do. Gym is nice and stocked but I've never used it. Someone seems to always be in the Business Center when I try to use it (like they work in their instead of their apartment.) I don't know that there's enough amenities to justify the price; they're really hinging on the whole "we're in North Hills" as the justification. Bugs outside on the patios including wasps (even the fourth floor) but I've only seen one in my apartment since I've been here, so that's a massive plus.
Some annoying things: • being required to use Fetch for package delivery when it's a terrible service • the fire alarms going off constantly (even at 2 am) (this is getting better/less frequent but it's constant) • parking garage gates seems to constantly be broken • visitors have to hope they find parking in a North Hills parking lot to visit • mosquitos in the main elevator all during the summer • sometimes the fragrances they use in their automatic sprayers are super overwhelming and can linger forever / give headaches • stairwells smell moldy • they do lawn maintenance every Tuesday morning bright and early and it's pretty loud for those overlooking the courtyard (just a personal gripe because I like my sleeps lol) • it's a smoke free building but people still smoke on their patios and make everyone's units smell and the office hasn't addressed
Overall, I would absolutely recommend living here for someone looking for quiet. The residents are quiet; I barely hear my neighbors other than their dogs barking on occasion. Online portals are easy to use for maintenance requests and rent payments. The apartments themselves are spacious and very nicely updated. The "luxury" name definitely fits the bill from an in unit standpoint. I would 9/10 recommend, unless you have a lot of visitors or need quick access...
Read moreSave your money. I’ve seen some other reviews say that their first year was not so bad but something changed within the last year and I would like to echo that. We have to ask multiple times to fix issues that they said they would complete the first time, for example: smelly dog piss in stairwell (after the third time I let them know it was there, one part of it was cleaned and another spot left. It smelt for days). The emergency maintenance number did not answer when I locked myself out (that part is my fault!) however the number is there for a reason (in case of emergency). I left multiple messages and was told the next day “the on call person didn’t receive them” and that either way I would’ve had to call a locksmith like it says in the lease, which I ultimately did before being told that and paid $250. Even if I had gotten on the phone with someone, they would not have provided guidance on what locksmith to use or how much it should cost, just would’ve told me to call one (there are so many locksmiths that will overcharge you and ruin the locks, for anyone living here that gets locked out, you need to find a certified NC locksmith!). And just the cherry on top: they are able to enter the apartment when we are not here for maintenance requests so they do in fact have a way to get in without calling a locksmith. Today I called to tell them my AC wasn’t working and asked if someone would be by to check it before the end of the day and was told they “technically have 48 hours cause this doesn’t necessitate an emergency.” We gave our notice early last month and were told our apartment would be posted on the website so if anyone wanted to rent it early, we would be able to get out of our lease. They STILL have not posted it. I could go on and on about the constantly smelly hallways, the broken gates and elevators, the multiple fire alarms, etc but it’s not worth it. I have lived in a few different apartment complexes in the past and not one has ever given me as much trouble as...
Read moreThe location and the current on-site management are outstanding. Still, several issues at the Lassiter should be corrected to make it a competitive luxury apartment building.
At least half of the apartments should have two walk-in showers. The population is aging. Getting in and out of a tub/shower is dangerous for seniors. We converted a tub to a walk-in shower in one of our bathrooms. But we were not permitted to convert the other bathroom from a tub to a walk-in shower. Grab bars are a must. We had to install our own in both bathrooms.
Apartment doors should have keyless entry locks. 3. There have been many false fire alarms. The alert horns are too loud and are at such a volume that ear damage could occur. I believe they are too sensitive.
Key fobs should not be necessary to open the gates into the parking garage. Modern garage door openers use RFD and are manufactured with a receiver built into the logic board. The receiver allows the garage door to be opened using a wireless remote or wireless keypad. The remote or wireless keypad sends/transmits a radio frequency signal to the garage door opener. If the garage door opener recognizes the signal sent, the garage door will open or close.
WiFi and Level 3 charging stations should be installed in the parking garage. The number of EVs (Electric Vehicles) is increasing rapidly. WiFi is necessary to update software in these cars. - From a verified resident on...
