Pleasantly Surprised 😮 Double 👌 WOW. We were greeted by two smiling faces to show us to our table. Then the most amazing, friendly, knowledgeable waiter walked us through the incredible menus and ASSURED US that we would hands down be eating the most delicious food in Redding. He was right! We were given all the menus which included cocktails 🍸, beer, seasonal menus alongside the daily offering menu. There is no way anyone can come in, and not find a dish they love. From Duck, Steak, Seafood, Poultry right down to specialty soups and salads. My meal consisted of the chicken artichoke and Brie crostini as my appetizer along with a smoked apple butter old fashioned (Yummy) . It was Amazing. Then I had a beautiful salad which I might say they have multiple dressings which I appreciate. I had a lemon vinaigrette and poppy seed with blue cheese crumbles over my salad. I had ordered the pork chop which was served with caramelized onions and seared with apple butter on the top of the pork chop. Under was a plentiful potato cake and let me tell you.......... it was absolutely delicious melt in my mouth Sensational. The chef did an amazing job. We finished off our meal with a New York cheesecake made in house with a raspberry puree that was also made in house. Let me tell you "it was so delicious I'm still thinking about the meal today". Another thing I appreciated is the restaurant was well staffed. They were A WELL OILED MACHINE that worked perfectly in Sync. The owner was gracious, friendly and checking on his customers and showed deep appreciation for his staff. So important these days to work with an interested and present owner. I was close to the kitchen and "The Chef was precise and efficient with his time". He did not allow his creations to sit idle in waiting. I loved my experience and this restaurant FAR SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS. 😃 For the record, I do not know anyone from this establishment. I however am a hardworking individual who is tired of paying good money for mediocre food and I finally found a gem !

Been about 4 years since I last visited here, stopped in for lunch. We ordered the hot pastrami sandwich, which was good. Also ordered a burger with fried egg and some modifications. The burger came out with a burned egg, yolk solid and dry. The burger patty was flat, thin, overcooked and dry, with no flavor. Asked for mayo and mustard instead of fry sauce on the burger. Was told the kitchen would not put this on, I would have to do it myself. The piece of “lettuce “ that came on it was literally the bottom section of the core of an iceberg head. For a supposedly “upscale “ restaurant, and at $18 for a burger, I would expect the cooks to be capable of applying mayo and mustard without customer assistance. The onion rings were burned as well, and all stuck together. Upon asking to speak to the manager, I told her I was not paying for the burger, I only ate 3 small bites to see if it was good. She didn’t say a word, no apology, no offer to rectify the situation, she simply snatched up my plate and walked away. I left hungry and disappointed. Our server Veronica however was attentive and provided great service. Perhaps a fluke? Not sure if I’ll be back.

Not sure what to expect as I drive here at 8pm. No one is on the streets. But they had a few people at the bar and no diners in the restaurant portion. The waiter is super friendly and was trying to help me decide. I went with the porterhouse which he said was the largest severing size and I had mentioned I didn't want a huge meal. He suggested the strip steak which was smaller and just as good. But I do like a good porterhouse. First off the salad, when I said blue cheese dressing, the crumbled fresh blue cheese on the dressing. Then the steak was gigantic. He wasn't exaggerating. I had ordered mine with one topping, bone marrow butter. Seriously, where was this all my life. It was delicious. I would put this on everything if I could. On the porterhouse, it became magical. I got the side of mushroom risotto. The risotto wasn't that creamy. I wouldn't get it again. No I didn't finish, but he packed it up all nice for me to take away.

I recently visited with high hopes, as I had heard about their American Wagyu Beef burger (billed as simply Wagyu). With the promise of a premium burger experience, I eagerly anticipated a flavorful and succulent patty that would leave a lasting impression. However, my dining experience turned out to be far from what I had envisioned.

Upon receiving my American Wagyu Beef burger, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. The patty, touted to be of the highest quality, looked and tasted more like a generic beef burger I could have easily gotten for a fraction of the price at a fast-food chain. In fact, it reminded me all too much of a $9 burger from a popular fast-food joint like Wendy's. The texture lacked the tenderness and juiciness I had come to expect from premium Wagyu beef.

The overall flavor profile of the burger was unremarkable, failing to deliver the robust taste that makes American Wagyu Beef stand out. It lacked the depth and complexity that one would anticipate from such a highly regarded beef variety. The seasoning was uninspired and failed to enhance the natural flavors of the meat, leaving me with a rather underwhelming culinary experience.

However, I must commend the restaurant's staff for their exceptional service. Despite the disappointment in the quality of the burger, the staff members were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their professionalism and warmth deserve recognition, as they were the highlight of an otherwise...

I live in Nashville Tennessee and grew up in Palo Cedro/Redding for 26 years, I never miss a dinner at Market Street Steakhouse. I’ve eaten at Morton’s, Ruth Chris Stoney River and other fine dining steakhouses and have been the GM at a 4 star wine spectator restaurant.Market Street is just as good as any steak/fillet I’ve had in Nashville and the cuts of meat are amazing. The other steakhouse around the corner was never as good, seriously lacked in flavor and never had the right seasoning for me so when I flew home several years ago I was shocked to find this quality of food in Redding. I tend to lean on a good Ribeye steak for flavor and last time had it topped with Blue Cheese. It was quite busy but they got me in within 45 min, no worries on a busy Saturday night. The server we had was very knowledgeable, the menu was simple and not overwhelming like some other restaurants. My drink order was taken and I had a one in my hands 7-8 min, my salad came out within 15. As soon as I was wrapping up my salad my steak was right behind with 10 min. I ordered it medium rare and working in the industry it was rt at 140-145....Perfect! I did not eat any dessert and I had half of my ribeye to take home. I will continue to recommend Market Street and am looking forward to going there on the next trip to Redding. Cheers to the owner and staff, you have a great thing going on in...
