They opened the stadium up for the public to bowl so a few friends and I decided to go. It was $50 for 3 hrs. For almost the whole duration of our time there some old lady working the event harassed us. She stood right behind us and anything we did even taking a drink of water she would get up in our faces and tell us to stop. She didn’t do this to any of the other people there and to be honest it made us feel like she doesn’t like people of color.. Whether that is true or not we all still had a very unpleasant time dealing with their staff members.
The old lady ended up bringing over her co worker to try and resolve things and what we found out was the old lady didn’t like our thermos on the ground next to our ball bags.. We told her coworker she didn’t explain that to us and that we’ve been harassed by her for almost 3 hours for ever little thing. Her response was I’m sorry you feel that way sir. Like what?! No your co worker is harassing us and it’s not okay.. Extremely poor customer service. 1 star but I would give it a zero if I could.
And maybe some advice. The next time ya’ll want to let the public into your little fancy bowling club you might want to inform them on the bowling stadiums rules, regulations, etiquette, dresscode, etc… Ya’ll expect us to be perfect but the truth is for a lot of us it was our first time in there and at least for me and my family and friends it was the last...
Read moreDefinitely worth a visit, even if you (like me) couldn't care less about bowling! My train was 4 hours late so I wandered in, laughing to myself: "What could a bowling stadium* possibly look like!". The minute I walked through the front doors, I wasn't laughing anymore! Even the lobby is impressive, with three-story stairwells and escalators assending to the left AND right. As you ascend, the walls are covered with pictures of all the bowling greats. When you get to the top, you're greeted with what I would describe as the nicest bowling alley I've ever seen, on steroids! Too many lanes to count, so I asked somebody. He responded: "78 up here and 10 more downstairs.". As you'll see if you watch the video**, they were preparing for the USA team trials, and the young contestants were drifting in. Adjacent to the lobby is a bowling museum that would make any sport proud. My only disappointment was that the description of stadium seems a little grandiose. The seating is apparently tucked away upstairs, in the rear. So much so, that I missed it! **Recorded panoramic video of the lanes and the museum, but found out Google doesn't allow it...
Read moreThis is our first time here and honestly I'm not impressed. We heard that there were grandstands so there would be plenty of places to sit and watch no matter which lanes our teams were on. What we saw were scattered couches and chairs and only a few "mini grandstands" with 16 chairs each. With events being practically back-to-back, you are not guaranteed a seat anywhere near your bowlers. And don't expect the 5th floor seats to be better. They only cover lanes 17-44 (and that's a stretch) and you cannot see pins or bowlers. Considering we and many others travel across the country to participate in and support the events, you would think the stadium would be more accommodating.
Also would like to note that they will nickel and dime you for everything. Food and drinks are pretty expensive even for an event center. Lockers are $10 a day, and you'll have to pay that every time you open a locker. You might want to consider parking in the attached garage that is also $10 and just haul your equipment back and forth.
Overall, I do not plan on coming back unless the seating...
