A great Boutique style Hotel w no gaming or smoking in heart of downtown Reno. Very Good Cafe for food breakfast and dinner. I know a few of the Chefs personally so I can vouch. Also Great for weddings, business functions or family events. Catered events as well. Live music venue seasonally. A much safer alternative without the creepy transient, downtown drunk people playing nickel slots and dropping ashes on your shoes. It's like an Oasis compared to the properties within walking distance. Which is good because you can stay here? Yet walk right across pathway to Eldorado, Silver Legacy, Circus Circus, CalNeva for your more "CasinoHotel Experience" place sports bets, drink or get that $5.99 "special" 24 hrs a day. I'm a local but have stayed here twice when friends from Bay came up. Also attended a private business function upstairs on 3rd floor Banquet Room. Beautiful area. So I'm sold. Great idea to negate the gaming alone, let alone cigarettes. You won't smell like its 1972 leaving the property. This hotel could be in SF,Austin, LA, Chicago, NY, etc. Hip yet still affordable (cuz Reno) and the amenities are good. Only issue? No big outdoor people watching pool like GSR or Peppermill. I Recommend for locals staycation, when special events are downtown or for out of towners w family or friends whom are not into the Typical Casino environment.

Wanted to get day of show tickets for Eric Johnson got the complete run around from the front desk. They told me come back at 1700, 2 hours before show, came back no one around, doors dirty and locked. Nevermind, if you are unprofessional and dirty I am not interested. Sadly will not see this artist or support him tonight. I put some pictures up of the front doors. This is a certain sign of how this place is run.

Great location for a show. I have seen rock bands, EDM, Spoken word, and straight up punk at Cargo. You can't go wrong, no matter your musical taste. Plus, I always stay at the Whitney Peak after the show, so I never have to drive anywhere.

I have been to the cargo many times but have never had such a poor experience like I did at the last show. My boyfriend is 23 and I am 19. As soon as we got into the venue he had gotten drinks at the bar and we had met by the front entrance. He needed to tie his shoe so he handed me his drink to hold onto so he could do that. As soon as the drink entered my hand security had shoved both of us out of the door. I am 5’3 110 pounds and was manhandled by the tallest security guy there who must’ve been over 6 feet tall. There was no need to be forceful, we were not being violent in any way and we’re confused why we were suddenly shoved outside. I kept asking what the problem was and telling them that I did not drink anything from the drinks. They obviously were watching me since they had shoved us out so quickly so they know that I did not consume any of it. All they told me was “I don’t care you can’t even touch them”. Then the head of security proceeded to scream at me like a child in front of everyone including staff and people attending causing a huge scene. He was being extremely immature and unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager and he refused to get him for me. At this point I was so upset I was in tears that we were being humiliated and treated like this. He was about to call the cops on us and make this into an even bigger deal than it was. He continued screaming at us, especially me, and wouldn’t let me get a single word in. We eventually walked away from him and stood at the entrance to the hotel. A lady who was calm and understanding of the situation said that she would get a manager for us. The manager came out and told us that we can’t go back in and we had to leave. He was nice and told us that whatever show we wanted to go to next time he would give us free tickets too. I was still extremely upset after that encounter with the head of security and what they had decided to do. The show hadn’t even started yet and they must’ve been bored. There are people doing hardcore drugs at these things but they throw both of us out just because of that? Are you serious? Did they expect him to put it on the filthy ground and have someone spill it? Or give it to a stranger who is over 21 and slip who knows what in it? I am very disappointed in the cargo and their staff. I thought that their way of handling the situation was very unnecessary. I appreciate the free tickets but we were not upset because we couldn’t get a refund. We had been waiting to see these artists for months, and they stole our experience over something so little. Next time, give people who are in this situation a warning rather than going after the wrong issues. I hope that their our consequences for their actions and that something is done to change the way they operate. It is not worth wasting my time, energy, or money when the night can turn out that stressful. We will not be returning...

First of all they tacked on an extra $19 to the price of the ticket x4 tickets then we werent able get our tickets until minutes before the concert started not knowing if they were scanable or had to be printed not that it mattered anyway because the girl was saying we bought them from the wrong vender and were no good. The after a few minutes we were able to pull up an email that had a code she could use. So then after checking everyone's id they patted us down and let us in to what i thought was the lobby or the entryway turned out to be where the stage was. So in this tiny room you could throw an empty beer can across with no seating orher than a single bench on one wall. T shirts were being sold for $30 out of a closet or tiny office. There were only two people working concession $3 bottle of water or a can of pbr for $7 they had a few bottles of liqour for a $15 mix drink in a tiny cup filled with ice. After about an hour we left. Oh yeah the closest parking was two blocks and seven floors away. The highlight of the evening was walking through the front door when we got home. It was sad. Wasnt worth the $300 plus dollars the evening cost us. We were...
